Ahkmenrah And Kahmunrah's Names Are Just,,,lowkey A Mean Cosmic Joke, Huh.
Ahkmenrah and Kahmunrah's names are just,,,lowkey a mean cosmic joke, huh.
"Ahkmenrah" and "Kahmunrah" aren’t that different, with "men"/"mun" likely being references to Amun and just spelling variants? The "rah" at the end is in reference to Ra. These are reasonable associations, as Amun and Ra are among the prime / solar deities connected to the line of the pharaohs. The difference is in the first syllable: Ahk and Kah. To put it simply, the Akh and the Ka -- parts of the ancient Egyptian soul. The akh is the part of the soul to face judgement in the Hall of Osiris, specifically the worthy soul that passes through and is honored in light of Ma’at. The ka is the part of the soul associated with the image / spark of the living, usually mistranslated as “double.”
In a sense, Ahk and Kah's names are a bit like “angel” and “corpse” or “ghost” which,,,yikes. It’s kind of a writer's joke / commentary on how Ahkmenrah is the worthy soul that passes on to the afterlife he deserves, while Kahmunrah is nothing more than an image of who he was in life. In the world of NatM, that means his parents,,,named him knowing, or hoping, that his soul wouldn’t be good enough to reach the afterlife and pass judgement? Why?
Thinking about this, I realize that "kah" is also part of Merenkahre's name. That could potentially lead to a less symbolic but more plausible in-universe explanation? In general, names mean something altogether, not piecemeal,,, Is there any sort of dvd commentary on this? Or info I'm missing?

Bofur‘s opinion on the Down Down to Goblin Town song

What was considered peak masculinity back in the 2000s is now considered as little meow meow energy in 2024

This clearly shows how far we've progressed and become even more improved versions of ourselves.

As for this godly man, he's still as fiery and yet so sweet even two decades later, if not more, as he was all those years ago.
MASH has a lot of issues, because it was a show about the Korean War made in the 70s, but there was an episode where a Korean civilian with life threatening injuries refused to be treated unless the camp was purified of evil spirits by a shaman.
So Hawkeye and company made arrangements to get a mudang from the village and let her do her thing and she exorcised the outside of the camp and then post-op and then the OR as the man was being wheeled in.
And I'm absolutely obsessed with that because it was a really nice and touching scene in this show but also because the mudang was wearing a mask while exorcising the OR, which means she either stopped the ritual to put it on or she let someone awkwardly put it on her while she was still doing her work.
"I feel so normal about him" well I dont. move
