"How many times do I have to tell you TGAs to call me 'Fico'!!" This is probably the first time he's telling you this. "Now which weapon are you asking about exactly? There are a lot of--"

Pause.

"LUCIA."

The black and white kitten(? It's hard to tell with these anomalous cats) who'd draped herself across the unused gun hooks perks her head up with a "mrrp?"

"GET DOWN FROM THERE."

Lucia, as she is apparently called, tries to get herself down, but Romeo walks up to the wall and scoops her up before she can.

"What did I tell you about playing behind the waterfall!? Did you get your dress wet!? The hooks didn't tear it, did they?" Romeo flips the cat around in his hands and, concluding her little Gucci baby dress was somehow dry and intact, sighs and puts her down. She purrs and rubs against his leg before he nudges her gently towards the door, where she toddles and is allowed out by one of Romeo's guards.

"That's Lucia. She's just one of the anomalous cats that's always running around campus. Apparently those particular bipedal ones are called 'Lucy'." She must wander into Sinostra frequently given he decided to put a little outfit on her to replace her plain black dress--and gave her a name. "That BTH should know better by now than to eat the campus cats, but they're rarely in the same places at the same time. I'm not too worried about her."

He checks the cameras to make sure she exits the casino safely, several patrons pausing to point at and coo over her.

". . .more importantly, WHY THE HELL IS MY WATERFALL OFF!? I thought I felt my skin drying out--" Romeo storms over and slams the button on the base of the mermaid statue and the flow begins anew, covering up the hidden armory. It's an open secret that the Sinostra students are armed, so he's not too pressed that you saw he keeps guns lying around. If anyone asks, they're decorative.

I swear I did Fico! I slept few hours but quite well!

Well Leo we all know he’s a bit… impervious to technology. But it would be so clumsy and adorable I think he could really become popular. Not cool-popular but he doesn’t need to know right? I’m pretty sure he’ll never read this, also we never mentioned his name so I doubt he’ll be able to make the connection. Lol I’m making it sound like he so dumb 😂 which I don’t think he is.

That’s an interesting point! Having to avoid touching others and not being able to speak openly of one’s burden for totally different reasons. Knowing that very unlikely you’ll be welcomed without reserve. Always a freak, always other people’s doubt and fear creeping over you. I feel for them.

You’re absolutely right both of them are very mindful of others, both would think “poor fellow got it worse” 🥹

Often I think about how a conversation between Subaru and Rui would go.

Rui wouldn’t really be aware of Subaru’s stigma letting his touch see everything about a person. But I think he’d be able to spot someone who’s touch-adverse like him. His rigid movements and avoidance of making contact. Especially if the gloves were off.

Would Rui think much of it? He was aware that Subaru could see into objects, at least? And that it drained his energy. Maybe he’d pity him to an extent. That, in of itself, sounded exhausting. And avoiding touching everything sounded like a nightmare. At least Rui could touch inanimate objects and not have his mind flooded with memories of whatever that object observed.

Subaru, on the other hand, would be well aware of Rui’s curse. His contact bringing death to anything he touches. He’d see how Rui would avoid everyone like the plague when he could. Always distancing himself. Especially after he received the curse. Rui probably was lively and gave hugs or high-fives or fist bumps. Any contact. And then to suddenly have that stripped away. He probably feels guilty that his stigma allows him to at least touch others and they remain alive. Sure, it’s overwhelming. Especially with the fact that he’d be able to see every aspect of someone’s life and their memories. It was invasive. But… they still got to live.

They’d both feel that the other had it worse, I think.
