Mouth Agape, Charlie Was About To Say That Of Course He Loved His Wife When Emma Continued On. His Eyes

Mouth agape, Charlie was about to say that of course he loved his wife when Emma continued on. His eyes never left his friend as he took a sip from his coffee, taking in the advice seriously. When she was finally done and a break was given when she drank her coffee, he nodded. Emma had given him a lot to think over. "So you think it's best for me to talk to her more about my struggle than it is to keep it to myself?" There was something about him having to verbally say it to confirm it, as if he didn't he would get this all wrong.

"I just," He looked down at his cup of coffee sighed. "I worry that with the kid, adding on how stressed I am on top of her stress would just stress her out even more. How do you find that balance?" When his best friend was around, he would pour everything and anything out onto her, he realized now that she was gone just how much he had been putting her through too. The last thing he was going to do was do that to his wife or to Emma. That was the whole reason for this conversation. "Is there ever like a hard line you draw about what you tell him? Or keep to yourself?"

Much Like Charlie Did For Her, Emma Sat And Listened To Everything Charlie Had To Say Before She Responded

Much like Charlie did for her, Emma sat and listened to everything Charlie had to say before she responded to things. He had a lot to say, there was no doubt about it, a lot of worries that ate away at his consciousness and she was doing her best to try to mitigate them so that they weren't so big. Not that it was necessarily working at the moment, but she was trying.

"Listen to me," she can't help but to interrupt, "Do you love Anna? Don't answer cuz I already know the answer to it. You love her so much, you couldn't possibly fuck or mess things up with her for being honest with her about how you feel. She's a good woman, Charlie, trust her to react properly to what you're going through. Its more harmful to you both if she doesn't know," she speaks with a shake of her head, taking a moment to take a sip of her coffee.

"Just be honest with her. Maybe don't tell her what you're going through quite like that, but still be up front about it. I tell my husband when things are going south and I'm craving a drink, we're able to talk about the why's, and typically I feel better enough that somebody knows that it doesn't bother me as badly... let Anna do that for you too."

It Had Been Years Since He Thought About That Night. About His Mother. About This Father. About What

It had been years since he thought about that night. About his mother. About this father. About what they lived in before he made that choice to run with his little sister all those years ago. As he grew up it felt as he had just always lived with his uncle and aunt. With their way Belly's and his life had turned out it was hard, no, impossible to say that this wasn't the life that was meant for them.

Had his father not been the monster he had become, he would have never ran with his sister and he would never have met Meeka. Nor Kartik. They were all his family now. His sister had grown up with no memory of what their father was like, a small blessing that allowed her to grow up the way she did. Loved and cared for by her brother and her aunt and uncle.

"Love," He said softly seeing the look on her face. He had always kept their past from others, not wanting to be treated differently or pitied growing up. Looking at his wife's face, he knew that she was upset. Angry. The last thing he needed her to be with the twins growing inside of her. "It was long ago, look at us now."

At his wife's agreement that she wouldn't tell his sister about the twins, he smiled at her widely. "I love you more my beautiful wife." Her words stirred something deep within him. It was the same feeling that he had when his aunt and uncle heard his story and without hesitation made space for the two of them in their home. "There is no one else that I would love to have those things with than you, Mekayla."

Kissing her passionately, he pulled away. "Now come love. We have a surprise baby shower that have to pretend not to know about." Chuckling he held his hand out for her to take.

It Had Been Years Since He Thought About That Night. About His Mother. About This Father. About What

Meeka hadn't experienced the heartbreak that Charlie had. She had known a father and mother who loved her, and Charlie, and treated them only with kindness, love and respect as they deserved. She hadn't been completely oblivious to the reasons that her love and his sister had moved in with their cousins, but it had never been her business to pry further, no matter how curious or angry she might have been.

Even standing there, listening to Charlie recount what was the straw that broke his back, her anger flared on his behalf. How dare the man that almost killed him walk free amongst humanity? How dare he not face righteous justice, as set out in the testaments. It should have extended far beyond karma, far beyond mortal intervention. A man like Charlie had deserved a loving environment from the start - one that cultivated his passion for acting, or enjoyed raucous laughter. He shouldn't have had to run away from the home he grew up in just to find it.

Her expression mutated from Irish Ire to something softer, muted. Charlie wasn't angry, wasn't violent, didn't feel the need to lay his hands on the man who singlehandedly changed the course of his life. He was a better person than she. She wouldn't make him become angry for the sake of vengeance.

He kissed her growing belly. The sign of life, a sign of their love blooming within her. Her petulant persistence for anger melted away with his kiss to her lips. She wished she could fix it for him, that she could take it all away and leave him with memories he would have wanted.

"I won't, Angel. She won't know a thing." She smiled, taking hold of his shirt and holding him close. "I love you, you brave, beautiful man." Meeka felt the emotions welling up in her chest even speaking them into existence. "I'm so glad I met you, that I got the chance to love you. That I could love you the way you deserve to be loved - with gentle hands and soft whispers. That someone like you deserves someone who will give you the world if you so much as look in its direction. Nights at the Dorchester, Dinner at the Savoy, a picnic in Greenwich Park. Anything you ask for is yours. I am yours. Forever and always."

Things Will Work Out

it’s okay if something took you longer to achieve than you originally thought.

you are not behind in life. take your time and go at your own pace.

don’t compare yourself to others. you are on your own path. every path is different.

everything will work out in the end.

you will get to where you want to be soon
