“Oh bugger off!” Charlie exclaimed as he lit the cigarette dangling from his lips. He didn't see the gang as a threat, but his friend knew better.

Elizabeth shoved him aside, as she took his place in front of the newcomer. The teen was obviously not going to get along with him. Her left hand was still in her leather jacket pocket, and her right hand reached into her jeans pocket. "Look, we're just trying to find someone. Not trying to encroach on territory or whatever, the hell, you kids like to do."

The slow drawl of his speech piqued her curiosity, was it a choice? Was it something else? But it was a question that needed to be answered another day. Holding the photo out, she showed them the man, a word that she wouldn't have used, but he was out of the age range to be called a boy or kid. "Has anyone seen him around here? He has something of ours. I'd pay for any real information that leads us to him."
