I just rewatched Priscilla today and it’s just one of my favorite movies.

The cinematography is beautiful, every frame is an interesting composition.

The way that Sofia portrayed Elvis is really contrasting with the image that people have of him. Here, he isn’t the King of rock n roll, neither glorified, he’s a real manipulator. His mood swings are fluctuating so quickly and they’re worrying us for Priscilla’s well-being. And obviously picking her at such a young age is disgusting. He wants to keep her pure, he’s even ignoring her own desires but cheating on her constantly while she’s waiting for him the majority of the time.

Her transformation during all the movie really pictured how he’s slowly moulding her into his perfect wife. He never cared about her feelings, everything is how he wants it, when he wants it. I think the peak of this is when he "proposed" to her, because he doesn’t even ask, he puts it like she’s already devoted to him, the thought of her saying no doesn’t even cross his mind because "every girl wants him".

Anyway, i need to buy "Elvis and Me" asap.

David Lynch has been diagnosed with emphysema and is now housebound, but wants to continue to work on projects such as "Antelope Don't Run No More" and the animated film "Snootworld," both of which have been projects he's wanted to work on but has been unable to make, saying that he'll direct them remotely, thought he has said he "wouldn't like that so much."

I, for one, am rooting for him. His work has touched me deeply and I want to see him continue to create. I wish him the best and I love that he continues to remain positive despite his diagnosis.

This man is a treasure.
