It is so nice that we got playable Zelda before female Link

I'm just gonna say it. I'm sick of people saying Link should have a female option

And I can't say I enjoy hearing people say the new Zelda should be more like Link

I realize that both of those groups are smaller than everyone else, but it's still annoying

Princess Zelda is a keystone of the franchise. She's one of the three pillars the entire series is built on. She rules Hyrule in every incarnation by herself. Her accolades include being a ninja, a pirate captain, a sorceress, a phantom knight, a reincarnation of the goddess, and just recently, an entire dragon

But somehow, there are people who dismiss her potential as a protagonist in favor of being lazy and just making Link a girl

Zelda and Link are their own characters with their own skills and abilities

When you say Link should be a girl or that Zelda should be more like him, you're placing a male character on a pedestal and ironically perpetuating the idea that a woman can't be worth something on her own merit and needs to change herself entirely to fit a man's standard
