It wasn’t your idea to come to the bar. You had gotten off work later than expected and you couldn’t deny how much you wanted to just fall into bed afterwards, greeting the weekend with an early night in, maybe a good, hot bath if you were feeling ambitious—  but then Rosie and Rey had caught you before you could slip out, both insisting that you all deserve a break that involved copious amounts of alcohol.

So now you’re here, sitting at a table in a crowded bar with bad lighting and pool tables and a too-small dance floor but it’s comfortable and close to your workplace, so in the grand scheme of things you can’t complain. A second wind had blown into you as you walked in, laughter hanging in the air and you feel lighter than you have maybe all week and suddenly you aren’t wishing for a blanket and a pillow.
