there's still much mystery to unlock with these two, mel in particular since she doesn't have league canon for us to dissect and draw on. all we can do is piece together the small clues the show has left for us and wonder.

but i kind of love the idea of these two having bodies augmented by very different forms of magic. viktor by the hexcore, mel by the aspect of the sun / sol if she is, as many of us suspect, of shuriman or solari descent. viktor lives in the lab, so often we see him lit by the roiling midnight blues, electric purples and indigoes of the increasingly sinister-looking hexcore and now parts of his body are similarly enriched, augmented by this heretofore arcane force that protects him or perhaps itself, almost like armour. mel we often see backlit by the sun, or gazing directly (and wistfully) into the sun, almost as if she's soaking up its energy in some heretofore arcane manner. she wears what we can only conclude is armour everywhere, to bed, to bathe, it's fused into her skin to the point where we can't even tell how it was placed there except by some form of ferromancy. she wears it proudly, too, which is really interesting, every outfit is designed to complement and leave it exposed (to the sun?). when the bomb approaches, it trills (according to the script) and glows brightly from a seemingly internal light source, even under her clothes and before anyone else in the room notices, she's alert to the incoming threat.

Ok, buckle up and put your tinfoil hats on because this is going to get a little crazy.

I still think there’s going to be a Jinx + Viktor team-up in season 2 despite the fact (maybe partially because of the fact) the trailer makes it seem like their plot lines are completely unrelated. Keep in mind how misleading the season 1 trailer is about certain character relationships (Jinx and Silco, for instance). Also given how interconnected all the plotlines in season 1 were, I highly doubt there will be these two huge plotlines in season 2 that have nothing to do with each other.

Now, aside from the fact that there’s pretty clear foreshadowing in season 1 of Viktor and Jinx meeting at some point, there have been a couple of hints so far in the promo materials for season 2 that Jinx is going to be involved in Hexcore bullshit.

The first (admittedly extremely thin) hint is that they just changed the thumbnail for the season 2 trailer on the League of Legends youtube channel to frame Jinx with a corrupted Hexcore motif

Focusing in on Jinx

Now, I’m pretty sure that Hexcore looking object in the air next to her is not the Hexcore, but a Dungeons and Dragons D20 to represent Stranger Things. Althought it is very interesting that it is (close to) Hexcore-shaped and is about the right color.

But I want to focus on her hands. What the hell is up with Jinx’s hands and forearms here?? They’re glowing purple (corrupted Hexcore color) and they look like they’re radiating some sort of energy.

Now, note that in this shot

It appears that at least her right hand halfway up to the elbow is completely wrapped up.

So my theory based on these crumbs is that Jinx is going to fall in with Viktor’s cult at some point. I have an idea of how that might happen but I’ll leave it there for now so I don’t look like a complete clown lmao
