The poem was inspired a discord comment by the magnificent and wonderful Titi @jarondont between us.

Odysseus shook those thoughts away

and tried to focus on staying awake.

For nine days straight

wide awake his eyes were.

The stormy bag of cries and rain.

Thundering storms in it's wake.

But no!, he needs to stay alert!.

For three more days until Ithaca's way

was his mind wandering away...

Penelope was the only oke to wait

the only desire in his salted state.

Oh her arms!, Oh her hair!

As dark as the sea he faced!

I've seen Odysseus been misspelled as Odyssues and it's so right. He doesn't have issues, he has odyssues.
