cruella owns five dogs at the end of the movie, lives with her two best friends in a huge mansion, fakes her own death TWICE, and is emma stone but more glam punk rock this is meant to be a villain origin but honestly sounds like a solid set up for a gay sugar mommy personally. cruella IS the next disney's first canon gay character

I honestly can't believe Cruella is a Disney movie. This is the movie where the main character should be allowed to say 'fuck'. The fact that Cruella isn't swearing every two minutes is trully astounding to me 😂 I absolutely love this unhinged psychotic masterpiece.

better than i expected, everything i saw on tumble made it seem far worse than it was

in no way redeeming cruella, i don’t know where y’all got that idea

just like maleficent, a retelling of the story thag makes us see the villain in a new light. not a better light, just new

cruella, jasper, horace, and artie are the newest addition to my ever growing collection of found families that make me want to cry

the story didn’t make it seem like the dogs killed her mother at all, it was entirely framed that the baroness killed her

as soon as cruella found out that the baroness was her birth mother, she didn’t stop caring about her adoptive mother. i love that, i hate it when stories use a birth parent twist to invalidate adoptive families

every single outfit slapped and emma stone is so sexy

the moth dress was fantastic and i’m obsessed with it forever

anita darling is the purest being ever and i love her so much

you can pry this movie away from my cold dead hands i fucking dare you

watched Cruella and i LOVED it. totally did not expect the story to take that turn. honestly it’s fun and camp. like please ignore the people making memes about how it was supposed to be about cruella making revenge on dalmatians cause this movie is totally Not a Villain Backstory. it’s self-contained and has influences of the original. think of it as an AU or Alternate Universe where Cruella is a glam-punk fashion designer with a hobby of doing heists. she has wicked tendencies, but she is not a bad person here. in fact, she’s complex. it’s just another take and it’s great entertainment

One of my least favorite things people in the fanbase do is cut out or don’t mention Tommy’s responses in important scenes or sequences of lines in order to portray his side of the argument or his character in a more negative light

Example:

“You think you’re a hero, Tommy?” / “I’m not the hero, nobody is the hero, we got L’manberg for each other!”

“I’m a person, Tommy!” / “So are we!”

“The only thing you care about…” / “Not the ONLY thing.”

His sides of arguments and his lines have a LOT of meaning, as well, and portray him as far more sympathetic of a character, closer to who his character actually is, when they are included in discussions.
