『 Istrski poljub - Istrian kiss 』

Croatian and Slovenian Istrian girls kissing in an old coastal town

Water colour painting of two young women standing towards each other and embracing in a loving kiss. Both have light skin and brown hair. The girl on the left is somewhat shorter and is wearing Croatian folk clothing from southern Istria, which consist of a long brown dress with red edges and some linear embroidery, she also has a long-sleeved white shirt and a white headscarf that looks triangular on her head. The girl on the right is somewhat taller and is wearing Slovenian folk clothes from Trieste region, which consist of a long black dress with red edges, a yellow apron and green belt. She also has a white headscarf covering her hair and shoulders and is tied on her head with in a bow. Both of them are standing on a tight a street of an empty old Istrian town with pavement, tall brick and stone houses surrounding the street, there are doors to houses on the left and stairs on the right. The weather and atmosphere is bright. The signature says "SnowyAvis Jul.2023"

The Croatian girl (left) is wearing folk clothes from southern Istria. The Slovenian girl (right) is wearing folk clothes from the Trieste region. The town I used as a reference was a photo I took in Piran a couple of months ago - I guess they met halfway between eachother!
