Limit Break!! Thank you for watching Digimon Ghost Game 18! I got to participate again as LO and Nigen animator for Digimon, this time around my focus was on my absolute fav TeslaJellymon! Some longer reflections after the cut.

It was by far the hardest work I’ve done in my career. At some point the stress of not being able to perform at a high standard actually caused me a week of insomnia, and I definitely wasn’t happy with how things were going. Ultimately in the middle of a production you just gotta do your best and trust that the skills you’ve built up are enough and that the team around you supports you no matter what. The end result is what it is. Most of it is not how I planned it out to be, but in retrospect I can’t with confidence say that my plan was that much better. The reality of the pipeline is that corrections are gonna be done to most of your work, and in the chaos of the anime pipeline those corrections might be rushed, or maybe you misunderstood the intention of the director and a lot of work will have to be redone from scratch. I try to not let it affect me as much but it still has been a consistent blow to my confidence. I’m still happy I get to work on one of the most influential franchises of my childhood, but this episode felt like my big chance to prove myself as an animator and I haven’t been able to escape the feeling that I squandered it, and I really don’t know when I’ll get it again. Nothing in the horizon so far is pointing in that direction but for now I just gotta force myself to be more positive. Wasn’t expecting this post to be such a downer haha, but my tumblr is a place where I can be more honest, and honesty is what you’ll get. Until the next adventure!
