Let’s talk about calum.

Calum had the dream of being a footballer and I even gave him a great opportunity to go to another country, but he said no and he was still in a band whose chances were that they would stop playing covers to be the fabulous world known band of now, awarded and with 3 successful albums and full of art.

Calum has always been closed, he did not talk almost in interviews unless he really wanted to say something. When everyone spoke he only locked himself in his bubble and only half smiled and nodded. For some of those reasons they almost did not give it the slightest attention in the interviews.

Calum suffered a lot of anxiety, stress, and social anxiety for the treatment he was given. Some leaked private things to him, some passed those private things like game and something normal without knowing that to him it affected to him. Some despised him too much in interviews and M&G. He was mistaken for an “Asian boy” and he said a thousand times that it was wrong because he IS NOT, there are even amounts of catches of him talking to the fans saying that that is racist, not because his eyes are torn, he is an Asian person and that they do not recognize that it is insulting. Some say he is a “black” guy when he is not and they make racist jokes with that, and some also clear his skin many times in different photos just for “not being white” or as if being brown was wrong. 

His voice was lowered, his microphone was turned off or the volume was lowered and, despite being the author of 97% of the songs, he still didn’t get what he deserved, his voice was named as the “less beautiful” and “Less talented" of the band, when he loves to sing and his voice is totally incredible, and if we talk about the wonderful bass player he is and that without that touch he puts, the songs and the band would not be the same.  

Calum supports multiple aid campaigns, he talked about self-harm, he has offered his support to the LGBT community, he is aware of today’s problems, he is friendly with everyone despite his mental state, he doesn’t have a toxic masculinity, he is humble, brave, inspiring and has tried to open more for a moment and share his problems, what he and how he feel. 

He talks about how important mental health is and does everything possible to be honest in the lyrics he composes. He has put sweat, blood and tears in everything he does, is as important as anyone and has a big heart of gold and I can’t believe how many people can exist to attack him in some way.

Calum is even MANY things more, supports MANY other things and thinks MANY other wonderful things. He is totally an incredible person and more than that, he is perfect. He could have attitudes and say things that he didn’t have when he was young but still he informed himself and he is a better person, a little angel.

He is so brave above all things, he is so inspiring, he is so involved in what he does and committed in his career. He is talented AF and his soul is the purest thing I have ever known. It hurts every little cell of my body when he feels bad or when it enters his dark bubble and remembering all the bad things that happened and keeps happening kills me. But seeing him go ahead and put on a smile while sending everything to shit and having his self-esteem high is the best. And I don’t reach all the words in all the existing languages ​​to thank him for appearing in my life or for simply existing. I love him so much and much more than my own life, I would give everything to see him smile and be comfortable in every way and I’m SO fucking proud of the person that this man is.
