Vax was a happy, fun-loving, light-hearted character who went to a dark place because of the story (and dice rolls) but climbed his way out of it, and Liam was planning on and pushing for a happy ending for him before Vecna (and, again, the dice) intervened.

If I see one more person argue that Liam only makes “sad” characters and “makes them all have tragic endings,” I’m gonna make them start paying me $5.
