Summary: Tanjiro discovers Muichiro’s newest ticklish spot

A/N: Day 21 of Tickletober! There’s not enough of Tanjiro and Muichiro being friends! I also got lazy and did b&w instead of colors😅

Days off are normally a relief for many slayers within the corps. Muichiro Tokito however couldn’t stand a day off. Originally, he was actually recovering due to an injury he received a few weeks prior but now, Kagaya gave the Hashira a day off while the lower ranked slayers had things to do. For Muichiro, he had been recuperating for nearly a week. Now restless, he sent Ginko to request for Tanjiro to have a day off and talk with him. The sun breathe user was good at talking and understood Muichiro at levels most of the slayers his age didn’t.

Tanjiro received the message within thirty minutes and appeared at Muichiro’s estate within the next hour, Muichiro relieved to see that the message was sent rather quickly. Aside from Ginko angrily pecking at Muichiro’s shoulder when she saw Tanjiro and Matsuemon, she seemed genuinely happy that Muichiro was no longer complaining about recovering rather than training or doing his job as a Hashira.

“Hi Tanjiro!”

“Hi To…”

“Please, you can call me Muichiro. We are friends after all.”

Tanjiro smiled and entered as Muichiro gestured for him to enter, taking off his zori and walking in, bowing to his superior despite the teen being a year younger than him. They conversed a little more, sharing a laugh before Muichiro was offered a back massage to help relax a little. It was apparent that the swordsman was itching to go back out there and fight the demons, more so than Tanjiro was. He had become antsy over the course of his few days off and Tanjiro knew he was restless. However, the massage proved to be difficult because there was no way he could handle a massage. Muichiro wouldn’t stop moving and squirming about.

“Muichiro!” Tanjiro laughed, trying to press into Muichiro’s shoulders only to gain giggles. “I haven’t really massaged you yet! In fact, I haven’t even been able to press into your shoulders!”

“I-I’m sohohorry!!” Muichiro giggled, yelping and sitting straight up as Tanjiro dragged a single finger up his spine. “EEEEHEHEEE!!”

“It’s okay, really! Your back is ticklish??” Tanjiro asked, giggling. “Do any of the other Hashira know??”

“Th-they all know I’m ticklish but I don’t think they know my back is sensitive!” Muichiro stammered, giggling harder as Tanjiro squeezed his sides, earning a slap to the hands. “HEHEHEY!! Dohohon’t tickle!! I said massage, dummy!! Why else would I have agreed to this?”

“You did say we were friends!”

“I know…but sometimes I wonder why I even let you do this.”

“Before I begin, am I your favorite non Hashira??” Tanjiro asked, smirking. “Or is Genya your favorite?”

“Blah, blah, blah.” Muichiro scoffed, making hand motions to add to his sarcasm. “Massage my back or get the hell out!”

Laughing, Tanjiro playfully poked up and down Muichiro’s back, becoming more playful as the teen squealed at each touch. In a way, Muichiro’s reactions reminded him of how his youngest brother, Rokuta would react to the silly childhood back tracing games they used to play. The nostalgia of it all made Tanjiro sad but he was happy to be giving someone a hard laugh…even if it wasn’t because of a funny joke. Tanjiro stopped poking and tried to massage once more, Muichiro arching away with a yelp.

“Okahahay!! Ahaha!! Sohohorry!!” Muichiro apologized, shaking his body and sitting still once again only to jump as Tanjiro brushed his hair aside. “Hehe…maybe a back massage is out of the question…”

“It’s okay! Although I barely even massaged you…” Tanjiro said, giggling. “I couldn’t even press in.”

Tanjiro tried to prove his point and squeezed at Muichiro’s shoulders but he reached back and tried to grab Tanjiro’s hands. Failing to do so but not trying very hard to stop him, Tanjiro successfully squeezed the spot between Muichiro’s shoulders and neck. A loud screech escaped, Muichiro falling over but sitting up just as quickly as he fell.

“Hey Muichiro! Have you ever played those childhood games where someone traces your back?” Tanjiro prompted, Muichiro unable to recall if he and his twin ever did such a thing.

“Mmm…no. I doubt I’ve ever played games like that. My older brother wasn’t the type to be silly like that.” Muichiro said, his sadness at remembering Yuichiro evident. “He was a very serious boy. Plus, my memories aren’t all back yet. They’re slowly returning over time though.”

“Well here, let’s try it and see what happens.” Tanjiro suggested, Muichiro grabbing his hair and moving it to the left, making access to his back easier. “My baby brother used to love this!”

“I’m not a baby.” Muichiro deadpanned. “I’m only a year younger than you and the same age as Nezuko.”

“WHA!! I DIDN’T MEAN IT LIKE THAT!!” Tanjiro shouted, horrified to see Muichiro’s blank expression, raising an eyebrow when Muichiro began to laugh.

“I’m kidding, I’m kidding!” Muichiro laughed, turning around to pat Tanjiro’s head. “You’re so easy to trick, Tanjiro.”

Tanjiro puffed his chest out and positioned Muichiro so he was facing the wall. Not knowing what to expect, Muichiro inhaled and braced himself for the dreaded ticklish sensations. He felt Tanjiro’s finger poke just below his shoulder blade, then another poke was felt at the lower half of his left side.

“Dot, dot…” Tanjiro said, now dragging his finger down Muichiro’s sides in a straight line. “Line, line…” Fingers skittered up Muichiro’s back, causing him to arch away with a giggle. “Spiders crawling up your spine.” A sudden slap to each shoulder shocked him. “Slap, slap…”

“Tanjiro!! Wha…”

“HEART ATTACK!!”

The sudden shock of Tanjiro jabbing two fingers into his sides sent Muichiro into a fit of laughter and he fell over, curling up as Tanjiro began to squeeze his sides.

“OHOHOH!! IHIHI DOHOHON’T LIHIHIKE THAHAHAT GAME!!” Muichiro squealed, now kicking and flailing as Tanjiro started tickling his back. “HEHEHEHEYYYY!!”

“Careful!! Your gonna kick me!!” Tanjiro chastised playfully, finding that ticklish spot along the back of Muichiro’s ribs.

Waving his hand nonchalantly, Muichiro was about to give a snarky reply but shrieked as Tanjiro squeezed his tummy. Rolling onto his stomach, Muichiro screamed loudly as Tanjiro pressed into his back, tickling up and down the entire length. Now flailing about and laughing hysterically, Muichiro begged Tanjiro for an ounce of mercy, something that impressed Tanjiro. Hearing Muichiro beg for mercy was something unheard of and probably something most would feel is a fabricated tale.

“THIS IHIHIS MEHEHEHEAN!!” Muichiro cackled, arching his back as Tanjiro focused on the backside of his ribs. “IHIHI’M A HAHAHASHIRA!! REHEHESPECT ME!!”

“I know but we are also friends.” Tanjiro argued, pressing his knuckles into Muichiro’s shoulder blades, not moving, just pressing in. “As a friend, I tickle each and every one so there’s always a reason to smile!”

“IHIHI WIHIHILL FLIHIHIP YOUR LITTLE BUHUHUTT!!” Muichiro threatened, kicking out and slapping the floor as Tanjiro tickled his armpits for the threats.

“Oh really?” Tanjiro snickered. “Let’s tickle all of your known ticklish spots plus this new one!!

Muichiro’s attitude changed and he was giggling like a toddler, reaching behind him to try and grab Tanjiro’s wrists. When Tanjiro shifted his weight slightly, placing more pressure on Muichiro’s right side, the Mist Hashira squealed loudly, his feet fluttering behind him. Deciding to be a little devious, Tanjiro snickered and rubbed his knuckles against Muichiro’s back, going from his shoulder blades down to his lower back. Screams and a series of pleas for mercy escaped from Muichiro.

Jumping all over, Tanjiro’s hands found each ticklish spot before mainly focusing on Muichiro’s back, the young Hashira finally letting out a wheeze and slapped the floor. Sensing that he was nearly about to shed tears from laughing so much, Tanjiro ceased the tickling, patting Muichiro’s back and helping him up.

“Are you okay?” Tanjiro asked, laughing as Muichiro sat up, his hair a mess.

“Y-yehehes…oh man…I had no clue I was ticklish there…” he wheezed, hugging himself around the stomach. “Shoulder blades and back being ticklish. Who knew?”

Smirking, Muichiro looked at Tanjiro. The sun breathing user simply smiled innocently, unaware of a plan cooking in Muichiro’s brain. Within seconds, Muichiro launched himself at Tanjiro, wrestling him to the floor and gently placing him on his stomach.

“Since we discovered that I have a ticklish back…is your back ticklish too?” he asked, skittering his fingers up Tanjiro’s spine.

No reaction.

“Wha??? Oh come on!! That isn’t fair!!” Muichiro whined, jabbing up and down Tanjiro’s back, hoping to find some ticklish spot. “How is your back not ticklish??”

“Don’t know. It does feel really nice though.” Tanjiro replied, a smug grin tugging at his lips. “Keep doing that!”

Frowning, Muichiro tried again, to no avail. Pressing into Tanjiro’s shoulders just felt like a massage. It felt very pleasant, Tanjiro’s back being sore due to all the fights with demons and training he endured. Knowing Tanjiro’s sides were ticklish, Muichiro grabbed his sides and squeezed, giggling as Tanjiro finally laughed, snorting as he tried to push his friend away.

“Ha! Payback!!” the Mist Hashira growled. “Now suffer!!”
