Ive Gone And Drawn Moon Moon Danny Again. :D

I’ve gone and drawn moon moon Danny again. :D
Okay we always have Danny being a cryptid in Gotham...
But what if we have eldritch Danny being a cryptid in Metropolis? And everyone in Metropolis is normal about it, it's the out of towners who have trouble with their "little" jellyfish/dragon/bird/skeleton cryptid, that the locals have named Moon-Moon caue sometimes the darling means well..
But well Moon-Moon is a bit of an idiotic genius.
And when I say everyone in Metropolis is normal about their local Cryptid, I'm including the Super Family. Cause that adds and even more hilarious edge to it.

Don't stop talking about Palestine

People thinking Danny is older than he actually is misunderstanding. the common Trope of Ellie and Dan calling Danny mom and trans Danny.
I want a misunderstanding that he's from the medieval era. where it was normal for people to have kids young. There are jokes about Him technically being royalty thrown in so it makes it seem like he was medieval royalty. They think he died in childbirth. If Danny or Ellie mentions her being an attempt for the perfect son it can be misinterpreted as just needing an heir or a son because of misogyny. Danny mentions the rest of the Clones, they could think that they were miscarriages due to being too young. Both Dan and Ellie make jokes about almost killing Danny all the time and they think that is because of childbirth. I never see what era people think Danny's from when this misunderstanding is in place, so I think this would be funny.

Tim ended up staying in the shallows, much to Danny’s bewilderment.
According to the scanner (Tim just… stood still as Danny scanned him, only tilting his head curiously), he is of species that reside roughly on the same depth as Ghost Leviathans. They even hunt those! Primarily at night, but the Dead River and the Void are their main hunting grounds in this area. There was no reason for Tim to remain in the shallows! Danny could see that he hated the bright light of the sun shining through the water surface and there was barely enough food for him here. Unless he decided to venture to the Aurora crash site and take on one of the Reapers there. Danny had a suspicion that the Nocturne might as well do it.
But so far he just… hovered around Danny’s base when the human was there, and accompanied him whenever he went out for supplies. Danny needed to built the Prawn Suit if he wanted to safely venture for materials in the deep waters. His Seamoth was no longer cutting it, since it required to leave the cabin in order to collect his loot. So far it seemed like his ghost biology protected him from the high pressure of deep waters (if him visiting Tim’s pack’s nest was any indicator) but Danny had no desire to test its limits. If he could make his exploration of the crater more safe and comfy - he will.
Until then he really appreciated Tim’s company. The merman scared off all the predators that tried to take a bite outta Danny. Sometimes he brought Danny some fish and even the materials he’s just been looking for! He probably saw Danny picking them up prior and memorized them. Tim was a really smart cookie!
Speaking of being smart: another thing the scanner found is that Tim’s DNA has some similarities with humans. But it wasn't like that initially and more than likely have been tampered with during the “intellect enhancement” the Precursors performed on the Leviathans. Also Tim's brain was practically the same size and shape as a human brain. He had lungs that were connected to his gills and said gills could filter out the oxygen from both the water and the air. Danny would need more data, likely from other alien facilities, but he theorized that, since there was proof that the Precursors were to the Earth, they used human DNA in their “enhancement”.
Tim and his pack were the closest thing to humans on this planet. And the thought made Danny’s insides throb in longing.
NO! He will not go back there! Too risky! Too many unknown variables!
He needed to make sure first! And in order to do that, he needed to establish a communication with Tim.
Which… turned out to be much easier than he thought! Danny knew that the enhanced Leviathans were supposed to be as smart as humans. But Tim has proven several times that he’s extra smart! When Danny tried to teach him some words, gestures and signals, the merman understood and learned them first try! The basic directions, “stop” and “go”, “follow me”, “stay here”, “hello” and “bye”, even “please” and “thank you” made it to Tim’s vocabulary. He even tried to replicate them with whatever he had for vocal cords. Danny showed him several times while holding Tim’s hands to his neck so that he would feel the vibrations and understand how it’s made.
The look on his face when he successfully said Danny’s name was worth more than all the precious metals the human had found on this planet.
It stood to reason that, since Tim worked so hard to learn Danny’s language, he should do the same and learn Tim’s.
But it proved to be quite a difficult challenge. He was right to assume that Tim used the Precursors’ language, which mostly consisted of trills, chirps and weird reverberating sounds that were impossible for Danny to copy. The first few times he attempted it, Tim visibly cringed at him.
PDA translation it is! But Danny was very bummed at the realization that he wouldn’t be able to speak on the same level as Tim.
At least the words were distinct enough that Danny could memorize their meaning and know what Tim wanted to say to him without relying on the PDA all the time. Maybe he could make a compact translator that would make the communication easier.
Another point to Tim’s exceptional smarts is how easily he understood the usage of tools. When he expressed his curiosity while Danny was using them, and Danny humoured him by showing how they work, it didn’t take long for the merman to snatch them from Danny’s arms and try to use them himself. He seemed to have a lot of fun with the scanner and even managed to built an almost decent base with the Habitat Builder. Danny refused to give him the laser cutter or propulsion cannon though at the risk of Tim hurting himself. And when Danny showed him the knife and explained the best he could why he can’t part with it, Tim nodded in understanding.
“It is your claw. I can’t take it from you” his PDA translated his words.
One other interesting thing that became a norm in their friendship is Tim teaching Danny how to swim like him. Danny didn’t know where this came from, but whenever he was out of the Seamoth exploring the underwater grounds, it seemed that Tim made it his mission to correct the way Danny moved through the water. It was difficult to adjust to the new “merman” style of swimming, but Tim ended up being a good teacher. And his way worked! Danny indeed started swimming faster and wasting less energy. He still relied majorly on the glider, but when he wasn’t, Danny was dedicated to swim like Tim.
———
Tim started to really like the hatchling. Danny! He had a name. A really nice name. When Tim learned it and succeeded in saying it the way Danny does, he almost chirruped from happiness.
Danny was a curious little creature. Resourceful and quick-thinking. Quick-learning too. True that he often relied on his tiny glowing tablet whenever Tim tried to speak to him, but more often than not he understood him without it. And even though he failed to speak back, the fact that he made an effort was really sweet. He was upset because of his inability too and Tim was quick to comfort him.
Tim on the other hand absorbed Danny’s language like a sponge. It was much easier to learn than the caretakers’ language and was very expressive. Tim quickly figured out that he can convey his emotions with the tone of his voice. Learned how Danny did it with his. It was fascinating! Tim couldn’t wait to learn as many new words as Danny was willing to teach him!
The things Danny used was curious too. He may not be the same species as the caretakers, but he operated almost the same as them. He observed the world around him with the same glint as them. He ventured out not to hunt, but to collect things that made sense to him. He relied on his artificial shell for protection. He expanded his nest as he saw fit.
He was still scared of the world he was thrown into. But it was also obvious that he had a burning desire to explore it.
Which was why Tim accompanied him on his ventures and even helped in collecting what he was looking for. And was always so grateful and happy whenever Tim brought him things.
He even showed Tim how to use his “tools” as he called them. Tim really wanted to understand how they work! He hoped he would one day.
But until then he was just happy that Danny’s trust in him strengthened. He was opening up to him more and more. Slowly, still with caution and hesitance, but there was progress. Baby steps, just like Bruce told him.
But Tim couldn’t help but wonder if there’s a way to speed it up just a bit. He had an idea, but it was risky. Better make sure it wouldn’t lead to some unpleasant consequences.

Some more tidbits of data below the cut:
Nocturne Leviathans are very skilful ambush hunters. Reside in deep waters around 1000 meters. Hunt at night. Capable of finding prey even in the darkest areas of the ocean.
Can control their pigmentation and bioluminescence to make themselves completely invisible.
Their usual source of food are big non-leviathan class animals. But adults, who grow up to 100 meters in length, can take on even other leviathans.
Hermaphrodites, but the process of reproduction requires 2 partners (which is a norm for almost the entire fauna of planet 4546B). Instead of laying eggs, one of the parents conceals the egg in a pouch within their body for safety until the egg hatches.
The adults are very affectionate and protective of their children. They have a tendency to take in orphaned young (even from other species). They have loud, rumbling purrs that vibrate through water and can soothe other members of the pack.
The little ones are born with vivid and wild colorations that alert the potential predators that they’re extremely poisonous. And aggressive too.
They mellow out as they grow and the poison in their bodies transfers into glands in their mouth and becomes a neurotoxin. They use it in hunting, defending their territory and fighting for dominance during mating seasons. They also can control the intensity of the neurotoxin. From harmless muscle relaxant (good for mating) up to full body paralysis.
One other interesting feature the Nocturne Leviathans have is their ability for hypnosis. It’s not very strong, usually used for reining in mischievous kids.
But there’s another interesting use to it: courting rituals. It is not a mind control and more like a suggestion of an idea. If the potential partner breaks free of the hypnosis, that means they’re not interested in being courted. If they fall for hypnosis too fast - they might be interested but are not physically ready to mate. But if they manage to resist the hypnosis for some time without breaking out of it and/or perform their own hypnosis back, then the courting was successful. Whoever falls for the other’s hypnosis submits to the victor and will be the one to carry eggs.
But, since humans are incapable of hypnosis, they would always submit to Nocturnes.
Jazz Fenton becomes a Hero. She only focuses on welfare checks for teenage or child heroes, though.
She was tired of watching everything Danny went through, and decided to become a hero herself once they were grown up and Danny had retired to explore the Zone.
Her job of hero-ing only goes to child heroes, though. She checks in on them, makes sure their mentors don't mistreat them, makes sure their needs are met, and brutally punishes any mentors that step out of line.
And getting your shit kicked in by a 7'3" liminal Infinite Realms Princess is no laughing matter.
