1.) Most likely to burn something while cooking

Anargyros. Despite being several thousands of years old, he has only attempted to cook from scratch a few times. He started a fire the last time he tried to make karpouzopita. It’s a good thing that he lives in the Underworld, where all of the inhabitants are either dead or immortal…

2.) Most likely to stop a robbery if they see it happening

Ariel. Being a magical girl + police training = Perfect person to stop a robbery in progress. She has every skill necessary to stop crime of any kind.

3.) Most likely to not admit that they’re sick until they really need help

Kunio. He doesn’t want to be a burden to Nathaniel, so unless he’s too sick to get out of bed, he’ll go about his day as normal until he can’t anymore, at which point he’ll likely pass out on the couch or in the bathroom. He’ll wear a mask if he has a cough or cold, even at home—Nathaniel has zero immune system, and the last thing he wants is to get him sick as well.

Tenshi (Tenshito). He doesn’t want to ever be late and disappoint, so he’ll just get there early and wait a few hours, humming happily all the while 🪽✨

Gustav (ITROG). He’s so much of an asshole that nobody can stand him.

3. Most likely to secretly be really good at music, but just not tell anyone:

Noah (YWIMC). It took Ali looking over Noah’s shoulder and viewing his sketchbook to realize that Noah was really good at art. Also Noah hates people, so he wouldn’t tell anyone anything regardless; you have to almost pull the information out of him.

Thanks for the tag! I love thinking about what tropes apply to my ships, it’s super fun hehe…Anyway, here we go with my ship dynamics!

1.) Two black cats. Everyone’s heard of the black cat and golden retriever dynamic by now, but a certain ship of mine involves two black cats…

2.) Rescue romance. Ok, it isn’t a case of instalove, like in a lot of examples of this trope, but it does get the ball rolling

3.) Friends to lovers. This applies for both of my ships

4.) Bonding over trauma. Again, this applies for both of my ships

5.) Whatever the fuck Ladybug and Chat Noir have going on. They’re in love and don’t know it because they don’t know each other’s true identities

Unorthodox Ship Tag ⛵️

Rules: post five overly specific ship dynamics for characters in your story

I like this spin, because the last time I did this was almost like a vague guessing. Now that more of you know my OCs you’ll probably be able to figure out the ships pretty quickly 😂

1. An abductor takes an abductee on a forced adventure. This happens with THREE of my ships ⛵️⛵️⛵️. One on the high seas, one in high fantasy, and one in the high vacuums of space.

2. “And they were roommates”—ships where the main cast, in some capacity, live together in a somewhat normal slice-of-life setting. This happens with 2 (eventually 3) of my ships ⛵️⛵️⛵️

3. An overprotective OC nearly martyrs themself for their love interest. This happens with ALL SIX of my known ships ⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️

4. Someone close to either of the main OCs dies within the story itself. This happens with 4 of my ships ⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️

5. Enemies to Lovers. Pairs where the main love interests start with actively hindering and hating each other before developing a relationship. This happens with 3 of my ships, 4 if you count Rivals-to-Lovers ⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️

Thanks for the tag! I put careful thought into what goes on my character playlists, so I’m so down for an opportunity to talk about why certain songs are on my character playlists. This is going to be quite lengthy:

Number one on my playlist for Kunio is Dead Bird by McCafferty. It honestly fits him so well that it might as well have been written about him. Case in point, the lyrics:

-‘My grandpa said don’t be afraid of death, he’s just your oldest friend’ Kunio was very close with his grandpa, Ryunosuke, and remembers him fondly despite the fact that he died when Kunio was very young. Ryunosuke was a classic case of Mr Sadman Deadwife, and he often told Kunio that he didn’t fear death because it meant that he’d be reunited with his late wife, Saki

-‘See this body? It’s not for me, and the way my bones are breaking is the way my skin will bleed’ Kunio has performed multiple acts of self-mutilation because his mother Nozomi hated his physical appearance, especially his eyes, because they’re the exact same color as his father’s. He gouged his left eye out in an attempt to make himself look less like his father, and make Nozomi hate him less, but needless to say, it didn’t work

-‘She’s playing on the swings, and she’s learning words like ‘fuck’ and ‘hate’ and I know just what it means’ I think this line captures Kunio’s feelings of having to grow up too quickly due to his mother’s abuse, neglect, and alcoholism. He was about three years old when he learned what both of those words meant

-‘She’s just like her mom, she’ll end up lonely and sad’ Kunio inherited his high alcohol tolerance, as well as his fiery temper from Nozomi, both of which are things he hates about himself, and he wants to distance himself from her as much as possible so that he won’t end up miserable and alone like her

-‘She’ll end up alone with rings, with rings in her mouth, with guns in her house, with holes in her heart’ Oh, boy. This line speaks to me about Kunio’s fear of his trauma and mental illness pushing away his loved ones. He’s convinced that admitting to having trauma and mental illness will lead his friends thinking that he’s not worth their time, and thus abandoning him

As for Nathaniel, the top of my playlist for him is Cough It Out by The Front Bottoms, and again, the lyrics are why:

-‘I am delusional with love’ Nathaniel met his abusive ex, Theo, when they were fourteen. Theo told Nathaniel that he needed him and made him feel special, and Nathaniel thought that it was because Theo loved him, but in truth, Theo told him that to manipulate him and isolate him from others. Nathaniel has a hard time dealing with the fact that his love was a lie

-‘I don’t care if you’re not sorry, I forgive you, and with or without your support I will continue’ Despite everything that Theo did, Nathaniel can’t bring himself to hate him, and all he wants to do when he cuts Theo out of his life is forget about him and move on

-‘You never know what you’ve been through until you pause and cough it out’ Nathaniel didn’t fully realise the extent of his trauma until he cut Theo off, and how much he allowed life in the foster system to negatively impact his decisions. He was never loved or wanted by anyone, which led to his suicide attempt, and then, Theo told him that he loved him, which led to him allowing Theo to manipulate and abuse him simply because he was desperate to be loved

-‘It’s getting harder and harder and harder and harder for me to call you a friend’ This one is kind of a double entendre. As Theo’s behavior becomes more toxic and abusive, Nathaniel finds it harder and harder to justify being his friend, and keeping him in his life. Conversely, Nathaniel struggles with the fact that he’s in love with Kunio; he doesn’t want to be friends with him anymore, and instead wants to be his boyfriend

-‘Whatever I did for you last year, I cannot do again, I will not do again’ When Nathaniel finally cuts Theo off, he realises that he can’t keep making excuses for his behavior, and that Theo has to face the consequences of his abuse, and end up alone

And lastly, here’s Ariel, and the song I chose for her is Out Of Control by Nothing’s Carved In Stone, again because of the lyrics:

-‘I have copied you and made up myself’ Ariel is good at mirroring the behavior of others, and she carefully constructed her online persona as SeleneDev to be as appealing to her audience as possible

-‘I fight with my obsession, I feel the tension, a need for caution’ Ariel is driven by her desire to be successful, and to keep making stellar games so that she can stay relevant on the internet, and keep her income stable. However, she’s also very careful about the information she gives out online, as she doesn’t want to give her fans anything that they could use to track down who she really is. She tells them basic things like her likes and dislikes to make herself look humble and relatable, but avoids telling them things like where she’s from, or her real name

-‘I can always show my everything to you, if this moment was for me’ Ariel wants to be able to tell Solana that she’s Blue Moon, but she can’t unless she can verify with certainty that Solana is the true identity of her partner, Red Sun

-‘All the things I knew, the world I trusted, would be the same if I remained inside my protective castle and kept my eyes closed’ At the start of the book, Ariel is dead set on remaining hidden, and is too afraid to approach Solana and make any connections to people in the real world. As the story unfolds, Ariel’s life dramatically changes as she gets more comfortable with sharing her true self with Solana, and if it wasn’t for her, and the opening of the story, nothing would have changed in Ariel’s life

-‘Words are just a toy that people play with, it’s superficial’ This lyric captures Ariel’s hatred of the false sense of justice that a lot of the people around her had; her classmates, who were all training to go into policing like her, claimed to stand for justice, but they refused to help Ariel get justice for what happened to her because their university would have lost funding if the owner’s son was imprisoned for raping her

Ok, you know what, since I’m getting tagged alot lately, and after seeing myself being tagged so many times, I’m going to make my own tag game! 

Playlist character personality tag: 

So, here’s the rules. 

You choose a character that you want to talk about, then from your playlist, or even from the songs you know, you choose a specific song that most relates to your character and explain why you think that this song reminds you of that character by analyzing the song.

Let me give you an example: 

So with an ask, I explained that when I listen to Ex’s and Ohs, I can’t help but think of Marielle. Let me explain what makes me think of that.

The voice - I swear, I don’t know if it’s Elle’s actual voice or the effects behind it, but I can’t help but I think that the way she speaks makes me think of Marielle, even if I don’t imagine it being her actual voice. 

 The hard beats throughout - I think with the cute voice and the beat, it low-key reminds me of Marielle’s small, pink jellyfish, wearing a long pink dress and you’d think that maybe she’s maybe another princess peach. Wrong! She can be stubborn, fierce, and is a force that you shouldn’t mess with! The guitar riff really helps with that.

The travel - In Elle’s lyrics, she mentions travelling from place to place, and Marielle does something similar. Just not because of finding herself in the entanglements of finding better guys. I think Marielle is all about the moving outside and being free to explore seems to be her mojo. 

The lyrics - Some of the way Elle delivers the words is sassy. Even the chorus, that is the part that I’d imagine Marielle singing in the middle of the castle, even though Elaine doesn’t really like the thought of that. ‘Hey no one’s here, so I’ve got to sing!’  

Also, the "Climbing over mountains and a-sailing overseas" is a relatable thing of Marielle, however the being haunted by ghosts… I really wonder what could have happened to her.  (I haven’t really explored that enough, but I could look into it for investigation purposes. 🧐)

The instruments - I really like the beginning it gives a sass to her, but with the acoustic guitar, it makes Marielle approachable. but with the harder beats to the electric guitar just makes me think of how she doesn’t like giving up easily to what she cares about. The parts where there’s less instruments reminds me of her contemplative attitude to things at times, but she doesn’t show it much to other people and prefers to be all fun and child-like. 

So far in the process, I don’t imagine Marielle having Exs, but I do imagine that with the travelling and what not, she’s got herself into a few hiccups with others, which has got her into the entanglements that she goes and faces with her friends. 

So this is my thoughts between this song and Marielle! I’m not too sure if there’s any other tag games like this, but I hope you enjoy it and spread the game around!
