Aljundiassagheer - 🏴

In the dream, you told me that all my poems read as punitive starvation. I did not understand, nor did I disagree — nor did I agree, for the sake of completeness. 

It was an accusation, and something you’d like to see changed. And for the lack of better words, I opted the answer:

“Poetry lives in the mind of the reader.”

True, and as empty as the truth can be.

When I pitiably woke up, desperately hankering you, near; longing to return to that place where we could dreamingly meet, I immediately understood what you meant with ‘punitive starvation’.

“I am only starving, when you are all I want to eat”, should have been my answer. Maybe it’s true. 

All my poems are about starving.
