trying to make the new gay character into some kind of predator is definitely the way to go guys👍 keep up the good work on your journey to Good Representation👍
I am B E G G I N G people to remember that Buck isn't a child nor is he a virgin. He is a grown man who knows how relationships work.
And while we're here... teasing is a thing friends do, adults mostly, when they want to give each other shit but also get their point across without being too fucking serious. This isn't Mean Girls, and Tommy is not Regina George, so please park your bus.
The more I see crazy, unhinged anti-Tommy/BuckTommy/Lou takes from a certain subsection of the 911 fandom, the more I feel like Buck in S5 as he watches Chimney spiral over the video Maddie left as he desperately searches for hidden clues and meaning in every blink and head tilt.
In the words of Buck, "Do you really believe anything you're saying right now?"
The more time passes. The more we have BuckTommy scenes. The more I see myself in them. The more I see people reacting toward them. The more I see the hate. The less I feel safe in what was once my safe-place

Oh my god y'all are so fucking exhausting you get literally the most innocuous scene of a character saying he's letting his boyfriend set the pace in the relationship and immediately it's like "poor Oliver he deserves better than this:(" what do you mean???? What show are you watching where any of this is wrong??? Gay men are talking about how represented they feel by Tommy and y'all keep shitting on him, demonizing everything he does using literal homophobic arguments, then turn around saying bisexuals deserve better rep??? It literally shows someone letting their partner set the pace while they discover this part of themselves how much better can it be. Not surprising coming from the same people who don't understand why showing a close friendship between a queer and straight man is important. Stop parading your ship wars as social justice because the people that should feel represented do.
i'm gonna say something controversial yet brave but i don't think a lot of you guys even like 9-1-1. and i don't mean that in a "hater that loves to hate" kind of way. i mean it in a "you don't care about the other characters, you don't care about the other storylines, you only watch for your favorite character + favorite ship, and even then, you don't care about your favorite character outside of your favorite ship. you don't care about the relationships they have outside of their ship, unless you're shitting on them, or the nuance of the ship itself, and you fail to view the show, the dynamics, or the character as a whole" kind of way. like. truly, i think some of you guys are just... fanon fans. fans of the character and the specific version of the ship that lives inside your heads. and i'm not... hating on that, necessarily, like you do you. but the sooner you realize you don't actually care for 9-1-1, or the characters as they're portrayed in canon, or the relationships as they're portrayed in canon, the sooner you can stop terrorizing people who think differently about the show than you. send post
