He didn’t care. Simple as that. Being around you was worth getting ill, despite his nonchalant attitude you refused to let him sit by you, not wanting to ruin his angelic vocals with whatever flu was taking over your body.

That was why he was sat at the other end of your couch, sulking as you told him to stop being a baby. You were the one who felt like death yet he was complaining because “I’ve been waiting all day for a cuddle and you’re being a turd”. You were used to this, it’s why you loved him. The second you were in his presence but not touching him he complained, constantly wanting to have his hand on you in some way, wether than be interlaced with your own, on your thigh or the small of your back, any time he was touching you he was happy. Despite how clingy he was you absolutely loved it, you felt adored and cherished in every single way when you were with him, he made you his priority and let that be known to everyone around you.

You could see from the corner of your eyes him twitching, desperate to cuddle you, to be calmed by your steady breaths and hear the gentle tapping of you heart against him. As you carried on watching Netflix, being interrupted by your own sniffles, you could see him studying you. Despite the tissue wedged in your snotty nose, your watery eyes and your raspy breathing, that was even annoying you, he truly believed you were the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen. He couldn’t fathom how someone could be so breathtaking when they had a runny nose and were coughing up flem every other second, yet here you were, tucked in under a blanket in your unicorn onesie, hair pulled back into a messy bun and rosy cheeks from your hot flushes. He’d had enough.

You were taken aback by Edwin’s sudden outburst. He said nothing but as he jumped up he looked at you, gave you his most dramatic sigh and stomped out of the room, earning an eye roll from you. Your legs were too weak to scurry after him as they usually did but they didn’t need to, he came back into the room as quick as he left, but now with a stupid surgical flu mask on. God knows where he got that from but you could tell that behind the mask he was smiling his beautiful smile, so proud of him self for cheating your rules. Knowing you could no longer protest you opened your arms to him and he gladly snuggled himself inside them.

His hyena laugh kept erupting throughout the night at the stupid films you were watching. Not once had he moved from his spot between your arms and legs, holding onto you as if it was the last time he’d ever touch you. Your soft heart beat was music to his ears, causing his own to pick up in pace. He was content, truly content, eyes filled with joy knowing he had you all to himself, that you were his and no others.
