You let out a squeak as a bunny comes barrelling past your legs, the small creature skidding against the floorboards as it changes direction to bolt into the living room.

You stare after it in shock, blinking at the empty hallway as you mind tries to piece together what you just saw.

Was that a bunny .. inside your house?

You hurry after it, stumbling into the living room as your gaze sweeps frantically across the floor. Your sleep-riddled brain can’t make sense of how it managed to get inside – maybe one of the boys forgot to close the door to the garden last night? The poor bunny is probably terrified.

You hastily duck down to the ground when you can’t find it, assuming it must have hidden itself somewhere underneath the furniture. Your search is finally successful as you move to peek under the couch, finding the brown bunny pressed up into the furthest corner.

 “Hi there.” You coo.

You carefully extend your hand forward, hoping that the animal will somehow trust you enough to let you scoop it out from under the couch and bring it back outside. It’s too far away for you to reach on your own, so there’s no way for you to get a hold of it unless it comes to your first.

One of the bunny’s ears shoots up in the air at the sound of your voice, its little nose twitching with interest. You’re hit with a sudden wave of déjà vu at the sight of it but you can’t figure out why.

You hold your breath as the small animal begins to hop forward, trying your best not to move an inch until it reaches your hand.

“There you go.” You murmur softly.

You close the door behind you with a heavy sigh, your shoulders stiff and sore from being hunched over your desk all day.

You wince at way your neck pops as you shrug off your light coat; maybe you should treat yourself to a nice massage once this case is over. This is probably one of the hardest ones you’ve ever worked on, and the fact that you’re taking on a whole company definitely shows in the mountain of paperwork you still need to get through. What makes it so difficult is how thorough they’ve been in hiding the trails of their money laundering, and if it hadn’t been for the ex-employee that alerted the police about it, you’re positive no one would have ever found out.

You’re keeping the case on the down-low as requested by your boss, not really sharing any details with your co-workers. It isn’t lost on you just how shady the whole enterprise is, and you’re sure you’ll uncover more unsavoury things the deeper you dig. And so, keeping other people in the dark seems to be the best way to do things. While you trust the people in your office, you can never be too sure of who might let something important slip for some extra money. You’re sure Lim Enterprises wouldn’t mind coughing up some bills for any information that could turn the case in their favour. So for now, it’s just you.

You drop your heavy bag to the floor, not looking forward to spending all night pouring over the documents you brought home with you. But if you want to wrap up this case this year, you don’t really have much of a choice. You grumble a few curses under your breath, so caught up in your own thoughts that you don’t even notice the heavy footsteps echoing down the hallway until you feel a body barrelling straight into yours.

Your scream gets caught in your throat, the shock making you choke as you feel a pair of arms lock around your waist, gluing your arms to your side.

“We’re so sorry!” Taehyung whimpers, his breath fanning over your throat from where his face is tucked against your skin.

“Taehyung?” You breathe, all kinds of confused at the sudden outburst.
