It’d been a couple days since you first met Tony. Calling him your ‘dad’ seemed out of place since your first interaction. You hadn’t seen Peter since either; not that you cared.
You honestly didn’t know what you expected when you’d first meet your father. You built a fantasy of him in your head ever since you were little. In your head, he’d be a middle aged man with graying hair and an irrational love for baseball who’d enjoy the occasional beer while sat in balcony of his townhouse. Not the billionaire philanthropist with hundreds of estates and his Iron Man suit inside a room in the building you lived in.
You barely got to get to know Tony, it all seemed like such a big let down. On the day you first met him, he shortly had to leave to attend to some ‘Avengers Business’, however insisting Peter show you around the tower.
The entire tour felt like repeated slaps in the face.
You realized just how close Peter was with man who was supposed to be your father. The boy appeared to be rather quiet when you first met him, however, he never refrained from going on minutes long rants about certain memories he had associated with each and every room in your new home. His expression was almost childish while he recalled encounters he’d had with Tony and other Avengers, his hands moving as if animated.
It was almost cute, listening to the boy rather excitedly jump from topic to topic while walking you around the compound, but the entire time you couldn’t help the resentment growing for Peter as he spoke about the memories he had which you, Tony Stark’s real daughter, should have had instead.
Anger seeped through you with every word Peter let out the entire hour of the tour, describing the life you had missed out on, and instead the one he got. You couldn’t help but let out a groan as he took you to yet another floor of the building, the one that you were supposed to stay in but still, another floor filled with probably half a dozen new rooms for Peter to go on and on about.
You decided to take it until you reached one of the kitchens and Peter’s eyes lit up, about to tell you a story about something to do with Tony making him try a new brand of coffee as they worked on his chemistry homework together, which made you realize you had enough.

subtle soulmates part one
bakugou x reader, soulmate au (2098 words)
you had no soulmate, or so it seemed
(this is part of a soulmate au series! you can check out the rest of this series here)
Soulmates. Two people bound together by fate. When you were old enough to understand, you parents explained to you that almost everyone had a soulmate, someone who shared a special bond with you. Almost everyone. You remember asking, how do you know who your soulmate is? Your mother had chuckled, showing off tiny letters on her wrist spelling out your father’s name. Every pair of soulmates was different, but they all had a way to find their pair. You fantasized about your bond, wondering what it could be. Everyone’s bond manifested by the time they were 10, and you were eagerly waiting for yours. Would you have a name like your parents? Could it be that you couldn’t see the color of your soulmates eyes? Would a little red string appear to lead you to them? Matching tattoos? Time went by and you waited, but nothing ever showed. When your tenth birthday came around, you tried acting strong, like you didn’t mind. After all, not everyone had soulmates. It didn’t mean that you would be alone for life. Some people chose to remain platonic with their soulmates, and there were a fair handful of people without soulmates, just like you. Still, you couldn’t help but feel the tiniest bit disappointed.
You gushed over your friends’ bonds, laughing at your unfortunate best friend who could feel her very clumsy soulmate’s pain, all the while ignoring the nagging feeling in your heart. Somehow, you couldn’t quite believe that you didn’t have a soulmate. “(Y/N)!” Toru called, snapping you out of your thoughts. Your invisible friend was another one who seemingly had no bond. Sometimes, you joked that she probably had a tattoo or something, but her quirk made it unseeable.
“What do you want to eat this time?” She asked, fingers prodding your cheek. You let out a thoughtful hum. “I’m kinda craving spicy ramen again!” You didn’t have to be able to see her face to know that she was judging you. You had absolutely no spice tolerance, but for some reason your stomach insisted on you consuming unholy amounts of spice, leading to a world of pain. You reassured her, saying that you would hold back on the spice this time and she shrugs, walking towards your favorite ramen place
You made your way inside, letting out a sigh of relief as the cool air washed over you. It got so unbelievably hot this time of the year, and it was getting unbearable. As you waited for a seat, your eyes landed on a blonde sitting at the back of the store. He looked vaguely familiar, but you were sure that you had never seen him before. He was chowing down a bowl of- oh! He was eating your favorite ramen, the very one that you were craving right now. Your stomach growled at the sight and your hunger grew. Eyes fixated on him, you tried to figure out why he seemed so familiar. Maybe he was from your school? You could sort of make out what he looked like, and damn he was cute. Flushing a little, you pull out your phone and attempt to distract yourself. As you mindlessly tapped on your screen, your eyes wandered again, only to find yourself making eye contact with him.
A nudge from Toru snapped you out of your daze and you follow her to your seat, slightly flushing. You ordered your go to spicy ramen, asking for extra spice and ignoring Toru’s protest. Maybe you’ll get milk too. Finally your food arrived, and you scarfed it down hungrily, ignoring the burning sensation in your mouth, forgetting about the boy. Shit, maybe you really should’ve gotten that milk. You opened your mouth gasping dramatically as the broth burned your tongue and throat, sending Toru into fits of laughter.
“I’m- hah glad- that my, p-pain is making, you happy,” you spat out. Dying, you were surprised to find the waiter placing a bottle of milk at your table.
“‘Scuse me, we didn’t order this!” Toru pipped up. Your lips felt too swollen to speak so you just silently nodded in agreement. The waiter smiled at you.
“Oh no, you didn’t. There was boy at that table who ordered it for you just before he left. He asked me to tell you not to bite off more than you can chew.” You couldn’t hold back anymore, glugging down the milk before you thanked the waiter.
“Ooh, I wondered what that was about,” Toru giggled conspiratorially. You shook your head, telling her not to even dream about it. Your conversation steered back to your high school choices. Going to UA had been something that the both of you had wanted for a very long time. The entrance exam was coming up, and you were determined to get in with her.

After working your ass off, you and Toru both landed a spot in UA. Excitedly, you ran into the classroom on the first day, slamming the door open and scanning the room for the invisible girl. Right before you find her, your eyes land on a blonde boy. Wait- that’s the guy from the ramen store! Somehow, you couldn’t forget him, and when his face showed up on the news, it only strengthened your impression of him. You scurry over to Toru, trying to act normal. The both of you embraced, squealing over the fact that you got in together. You had a teleportation quirk, allowing you to travel both short and long distances in the blink of an eye. In the exam, you had a little trouble taking down bots due to the face that your quirk didn’t really help your offense, but somehow you had made it work. You continued chattering with Toru, sneaking glances at the boy.
Weeks passed and you learnt that his name was Bakugou, and that he had a serious temper. You were drawn to him from day one, but the moment you saw how he treated Midoriya, you couldn’t help but feel the slightest bit apprehensive. Despite that, you found yourself thinking about him more and more. You weren’t stupid, you knew you sort of developed a crush on the blasty boy. Still, what could you do? He didn’t seem like he was interested in a relationship, and what if he had a soulmate? So you bit your tongue and said nothing. Glancing down at your phone, you cussed. You sprinted down the corridor, rushing to the canteen. Your teacher had asked you to stay back to discuss a late assignment, and you were starving. This time, you were craving beef rice. You turned a sharp corner, never once slowing down until you bowled right into something. Pain smarted your nose. The thing you crashed into was pretty hard, and it was- warm? You opened your eyes to find yourself staring at one disorientated Bakugou. He had his typical grumpy expression, but there was something in his eyes that you couldn’t recognize. Speaking of eyes, woah. You never noticed their color, always being too embarrassed to look him in the face. He had really pretty red eyes.
“Um, sorry!” you squeaked out, scrambling off him. You landed you on top of your crush, and the situation hit you like a ton of bricks. Oh god, he was going to think that you were a maniac. Your face grew redder and redder, expecting him to yell at you.
“Tch. Whatever.” He scoffed, getting up and walking away. He… didn’t get mad at you? Maybe he was in a good mood? Or maybe…
“Bakugou!” You shouted at his back, “be my friend!”
“Hah?” he turned to look at you incredulously.
“Don’t you want to be my friend? I mean, you’re nicer to me than you are to Dek- Midoriya, and you got me that milk! Let’s be friends!” You rambled. He stared at you in silence. Did you come off too strong? Were you blushing? Were you overthinking everything-
“Fine. I’ll be your friend.” He let out an exhale. “But let’s get one thing straight dumbass, I got you that milk because I pitied you, that’s all,” he barked out. You let out a squeak, excitedly bouncing up and down. Him! 1A’s resident grump agreed to be your friend! In the heat of the moment, you decide to try your luck one more time. “Great!! Then let’s go for lunch this Saturday to celebrate our friendship!!”
This time, he straight up walked away. Not exactly unexpected. You brushed off the slight sting. Being friends is better than nothing. For now, it was time for your beef rice! You skipped to the canteen, practically salivating at the sight of the food your friends had saved for you. “Toru,” you drawled, eyes shining, “how did you know I was craving this?” She chuckled and pushed the plate towards you. “Just a hunch! Dig in!” You nod your head excitedly, shoving a spoonful of the warm rice into your mouth. Mm, she even put spice in. Perfect.
⬸☆♦♡☁♡♦☆⤑
Bakugou thought that soulmates were bullshit. Maybe it had to do with the fact that he was stubborn and hated being told what to do. Maybe it had to do with the fact that he didn’t have one. Kids in middle school teased him for it, but he had proudly brandished the fact. “You extras only have soulmates because you’re not good enough on your own! I don’t need anyone, they’d just hold me back anyways.” He would yell, blowing up things and people until they learnt to leave him alone. It wasn’t a lie, he had no use for a soulmate. He had one goal and one goal only, which was to become the top hero. Where the hell would he have space for a soulmate? Bitterness filled him. Made sense for him to be alone, he was better that way anyways.
Then, one day, he’d just been eating his ramen when he noticed you. You were eating the same thing as him, only suffering greatly and choking on every bite. The floating uniform- the hell? Was that an invisible person or something? The thing was shaking in what he assumed to be laughter. Pathetic. Still, he paid for an extra milk at the counter, asking the waiter to send it to you. He just couldn’t stand looking at someone be that weak, even when it comes to spice tolerance. A sudden thirst came over him and he found himself craving milk too. Shit, he should’ve gotten a carton for himself too.
To his surprise, he saw both you and the invisible thing in his class at UA. Huh, weird coincidence. His initial impression of you was that you were an airhead. He kept to himself with the exception of the few idiots that kept bugging him, so he didn’t get to see much of you. Then, the USJ incident happened. You, Kirishima and him had been swept away to the Ruins zone. To his surprised, you too had sprung onto Kurogiri. You fought like you were feral, tearing through the villains, seemingly blinking in and out of existence as you whaled on them with a baton. Together, you managed to take down most of them relatively quickly, and you volunteered to scout out the other locations to see who was in the most need of help, directing him and Kirishima to where they were needed. He gained a silent respect for you after that. Then, that respect started growing. You made up with your lack of offense by training hard and mastering different weapons. He saw you train your quirk, teleporting as quickly as you could, pushing yourself to the limits trying to increase your stamina. He saw you learn from experience and teleport so unpredictably most people wouldn’t have been able to react in defense. Soon, you became both a threat and a person that he grudgingly held respect for.
So, when you crashed into him, he held his tongue. You weren’t some stupid shitty extra, so he didn’t mind that much. Then you had asked to be his friend. The hell? But for some reason, he didn’t say no. You were strong, that’s why he agreed. Right? When you asked him to go eat with you, he felt strange. So strange that he just turned around and walked away, grumbling. Maybe he was wrong, maybe you were just a happy go lucky airhead. One that kicked serious ass. Dammit, what the fuck was wrong with him today? Must’ve been the beef rice he ate. Shit probably poisoned him.

It had been a full week since she’d caught you trying to escape from a downstairs window. Or so you estimated, assuming that she fed you three times a day. She’d locked you in the storage closet in the basement; even in the brief moments she opened the door to put your food in or remove the waste bucket you couldn’t see any daylight. The darkness and isolation were getting to you, the white noise produced by the heater was one of the only things keeping you from going nuts. Carol hadn’t spoken to you once since finishing the physical part of your punishment all those days ago, she’d just locked you away in a closet without another word.

Summary: The King in the North was now King of the Seven Kingdoms. Peace reigned. But Kings need heirs.

The King in the North they called him. King in the North even as he sat on the Iron Throne. Robb Stark was King of the Seven Kingdoms—won with bloody battles and dead wives. Alliances were sewn with marriages and Robb had easily taken a wife when it meant more men for his armies, more food to feed them, a stronger claim to the throne that had taken the head of his father all those years ago. A Frey girl. She’d been pretty, she’d been told. Pretty for Frey with small hips and a nice smile. She died in childbed—their son along with her. Then there was Margaery Tyrell. The beauty of the Reach. With the Reach under his command, Robb was unstoppable. Food was plentiful even as Winter came and went and the remaining forces loyal to the Crown starved and died.
Yes, she made a beautiful queen for a year. When her face turned purple and blood poured from her eyes, everyone cried “poison! Poison!” and pointed fingers at the Greyjoys, still refusing to bend the knee to their new king. No one ever truly knew who had murdered The Gracious Queen Margaery, but the heads of hundreds of Greyjoy bannermen decorated the pikes outside the Red Keep until the last Greyjoy, Yara, finally accepted his rule.
The Realm had peace, it seemed. The Dragon Queen had stayed in Essos with her army and her dragons and the Wildlings to the North had been eliminated under the command of his bastard brother, Jon Snow.
Peace, they said.
But, Kings need heirs.
