Before you knew it, it was Monday again, which means school, fortunately, this was the last week before graduation, even if you mom forced you to go to that insipid private academy in Tokyo, you’ll keep chasing your aspirations no matter what. It was still I little bit cold but the weather was slowly changing as the spring got closer. Over your school uniform, you were wearing the school uniform’s coat that had their logo embroidered and your fluffy (f/c) scarf to keep you warm on your way to the school door.

Summary: Because of changes made in the past when the Avengers reversed the Snap, anomalies occurred. A few people who “blipped” didn’t return once the Snap reversed. Likewise, a few people who died before the Snap inexplicably came back.

One who returned was the daughter of a top lieutenant in HYDRA. Bucky Barnes knew she’d died before the Snap because he’d killed her himself. He’d been ordered to kill her along with her father who’d betrayed the terrorist organization while he was still the infamous Winter Soldier. Now she’s back, scared, and on the run from HYDRA operatives.

As far as the world is concerned, the lovely young woman is dead. Bucky learns of her completely by chance, recognizing her delicate face as one of those who haunt the nightmares he can’t escape. He knows it’s only a matter of time before HYDRA catches her and he’s not convinced she knows anything that would earn her protection from SHIELD.

Envious of his best friend’s newfound happiness in a relationship that didn’t have the most traditional beginning, Bucky decides to take advantage of the opportunity presented to him and take matters into his own hands…

She pushed the creaky short gate pushing her bike along her with the shopping bags and closed it behind her. She put the bike on its little corner next to the driveway and locked it. She took the two shopping bags, along with her bag and walked to the front door. Before (Y/N) could even align the key with the keyhole, the door was harshly swung open revealing a much preoccupied and almost hyperventilating woman, (E/C) eyes met an equal pair of concerned (E/C) ones.

You nervously tightened your grip on the small clutch in your hands, digging your nails into the faux leather and ignoring the sting of the metal pointed studs against your skin. For a few minutes now, you had just been standing outside of the club Garden, listening to the loud music and watching the flashing neon lights every time the door opened. With each group of people leaving, stumbling out drunk and high off adrenaline from dancing, the same amount were let in from an insanely long line, which even curved around the building to where you couldn’t see. There were so many people waiting to go in, and yet, you knew that you could just bypass this line and go on in. 

Why were you so nervous? 

It wasn’t the thought that you would be glared or yelled at by the people waiting if you skipped the line. Sure, it might make you a bit embarrassed if they picked at you, but that wasn’t the problem. No, it was who was waiting inside the club and who gave you that exact privilege to just come on in that terrified you. 

Bakugou 10:50 pm: come to the club Garden downtown around 1 am. just show your ID at the door and theyll let you in past the line. 

Me 10:51 pm: Just me? 

Bakugou 10:51 pm: just you, babe. your shitty friends arent invited.

You didn’t leave the apartment the next day, told everyone you were sick. Claire thought taking the day off was a good idea, encouraging you. She knew you were upset that Brian had made such a scene and that you were worried about what he’d do once they released him. Claire was ready to kill him herself and you had no doubt she would try. But you didn’t want to keep bringing drama into her life like this. She was a really good friend and she’d been through so much with you over the last two and a half years.

The biggest problem you had? You couldn’t get your mind off that letter. You’d read it a dozen times at least. Trying to understand, trying to convince yourself it wasn’t real. It couldn’t be real.

But you knew, deep in your heart of hearts, it was most definitely real. And you needed to talk to someone about it. Desperately. Before you saw Steve again. Before you saw Natasha again.

Before you lost your mind.

You couldn’t tell Claire. She already thought you weren’t right for dating Brian. If you tried to explain all of this…

It was easier to find Wong the Wizard than you thought. Most importantly, he was real. And that only made the chances that the letter was real stronger and… Yeah.

First, you found an odd social media profile for Wong which led to an email. You sent an email to him, explaining that you wanted to invite him to lunch to thank him for sending you the letter and you wanted to ask a few questions if you could.

Wong answered an hour later, and your hands shook as you went to open it. It was a short reply telling you he’d meet you at the Subway that was right on the edge of campus and that he’d be happy to answer any question that he could.

You didn’t know whether to feel elated or fearful.

To make your lunch date with Wong, you called in sick at the coffee shop for a second day, promising Spencer you’d be back tomorrow. His answering text nearly sent you into hysterics.

Spencerd: You’d better be back tomorrow. It’s been busy. And Captain America wanted me to tell you to feel better. 😉
