honestly i dont really have like,,,a set way that i pick colours? a lot of the time it's just i choose a colour i want for a base (like hair or skin or whatever) and then for the shading i use the same colour but darker and more saturated. sometimes if im feeling spicy ill put my shading on a multiply layer and use like purple or blue but i find normally for that it depends on the piece im doing?

sometimes when i dont feel like my colours are enough tho ill add filters over top of my stuff to make things look a little brighter, or ill add a multiply or overlay layer with a solid colour and clip it to the drawing.

i hope that answers your question! unfortunately the best explanation i can really give you is just "fuck it we ball"
