Scottish Fold: tell me about a soft trope that makes you melt Defensive characters being helped to open up by more social characters. I feel like that's a thing, but I'm not entirely sure. Just someone being so closed off from the world for protection, either for themselves or for others, and then another character comes in and they start smiling openly and making friends and being happy. It's a very sweet thing to me Russian Blue: if you could take a tour through one of the locations in your WIP, which one would it be and what would you do? I don't think I'd tour my main WIP. I don't really want to have to deal with an apocalypse in a generic city. I think I'd go to the Family AU household (you can find a description here along with other AUs @pagesofcursive and I have) I'd love to see the chaos and how the adults handle the kids. I have a vague idea of what it looks like, but the detail and homeyness I'm sure it has is something I'd love to see

This is so cute!!!!! The detail in this is phenomenal. It has such a comforting fairytale esque feel about it. I think I could look at it for hours but the story that goes along with this is calling me

Logline: A young, struggling bard named Emry vies to capture the attention of Vidanya’s most prominent musicians’ guild- but just as the largest music festival of the year begins, a talkative spirit traps themself in his lute. Together with his academic ex-girlfriend, Emry delves into the forgotten lore of spirits to return the being home, only to find a much greater threat looming beneath the surface.

This stubborn, high strung kid is Freddie. An only child of two prestigious scientists disconnected from their family, he was removed from his parents for most of his life. They prided themselves in their work and urged him to do the same, leading to high standards and disconnect from people. At the age of 5, his parents left on a 3 year space journey to an asteroid, leaving him to mourn their abscense. He doesn't have any friends at school, since, being 9 in 7th grade, his a lot younger than everyone else, and because his high standards cause him to reject almost everyone who tries to approach him. Becoming part of the trio is the first step on a journey to healing emotionally and socially. (Though it's probably made a lot harder by being stuck in an apocalypse)

They are very cool. I love mysterious characters, especially those whose backstories aren’t included, not knowing about them is part of their appeal and it gives a sense of depth and privacy

Nicknames: Who in their right mind would upset two vampires and two principles at the same time? (the students call Lev the shadow’s shadow behind his back because of how he follows Evgeny around)

Sexuality: Homosexual (Lev), Bisexual (Evgeny)

Ethnicity: lost to time. They both claim to be Transilvanian for that good old-fashioned feel, but nobody’s sure how true that is.

Other information:

These two are a package deal, a two-for-one situation. They claim to be rivals. They have been persistently claiming that for the last 200 years they lived (does “lived” apply to vampires? existed, maybe?) together.

Lev is the vampire and Evgeny is the vampire vampire hunter. Or maybe it’s the other way around? When you live with someone for so long, you stop separating their person from yourself. To be sure that they’re right about who’s who every once in a while, they switch every few years.

These two are co-principles of a magical academy. They wanted it to be a regular academy, but supernatural things tend to attract each other, so they eventually gave up and embraced the weirdness.

Like the other dwellers of Quiet, they think they (and their academy, of course) are the only unusual thing in this town and try to keep a low profile. Evgeny is very confident and sometimes over-the-top dramatic, while Lev is quiet, shy, and empathetic, but you don’t want to be near him if he snaps. During the time of the story, Lev considers himself the vampire and Evgeny the vampire hunter. They mostly live off of donated blood (small amounts, knowing how many people need that), but Lev often wonders why there are no mice or rats at the academy.
