I actually don't find anything wrong with Matpat finding the project interesting and talking about it. I found the video quite lovely, it reminded me of when I first visited the website and I was trying to click on everything just to see if anything would happen. Homestuck is probably the piece of media with the biggest impact on my life. It's the reason for my username, it helped me learn english and it was one of the main reasons why I decided to ddedicate my life to art.

I still look back to this day on my cringy days of making Homestuck fanfics and writing in a mix of Vriska's and Sollux's writing styles.
