Saturday Rain
saturday rain

PAIRING: xu minghao x reader GENRE: strangers on the park, hurt-comfort WC: 577 WARNING: reader is stressed out
Minghao thinks there's something magical about Saturday's rain. After a long week of work, Saturday feels like the reward, but at the same time the calm before the storm. So when the weather forecast on his phone gives a 100% probability of rain (meaning it already rains when he checked the app, he just wants to make sure that the rain is equal in every part of town), he goes out with his umbrella.
His feet involuntarily make their way to the park. He expected it to be empty, even though he hoped to see little kids running around just enjoying the rain.
He did not, however, expect to see someone sitting on the bench, wearing a yellow raincoat. Getting rained on, alone, yet your face shows no emotion.
You don't seem to notice him and he wishes he could do the same. A thousand thoughts run around his head, a classic mental battle of whether should he approach you or not. he doesn't even know you but he's growing worrisome as minutes pass by and you stay unmoved.
"Care for a company?" he asks, finally approaching you. You try to wipe the water in your face to no extent.
"I don't mean to be rude," you start with a shaky voice. "But I'm completely fine," you look up to him, offering a thin smile. "I guess," you add.
Minghao just nods before walking away from you to the center of the park. At least he asked, right?
Minutes later, he found himself sitting far away from you, watching your back for signs of shaking, or anything. Anything that tells him you still feel something. He knows he will be crossing so many boundaries that he would never want if he's on the receiving end, but he can't. He can't just stand by and watch while you wait for the rain to hit a certain button that will break the dam.
So Minghao sat next to you. He doesn't talk or anything, just holding the umbrella for the both of you. He doesn't mind getting a little soaked in the left part of his body. He doesn't mind it too when you start sobbing uncontrollably. Your cries pierce through his heart, drowning the sound of the rain itself.
When you finally stop crying, the dark clouds have lifted. Only drizzle remains as the skies get clearer.
Hao stood up, offering a handkerchief that somehow ended up in the pocket of his coat, which you gladly take.
"Keep it," Minghao said. He had wanted to tell you to call him if you needed a friend to talk to or a shoulder to cry on so that at least you're not alone. But he couldn't. He shouldn't.
You thanked him quietly, trying to steady your voice. He nodded quickly before leaving you alone once again. Minghao made a mental note to come to visit the park more frequently in the future, waiting for you in your yellow raincoat.
And you, well, you watched as he walked away. A streak of color appeared on the horizon where he was headed. On top of that, you wished that the rules of "there's always rainbows after the rain" would still apply to your life.
When Minghao looked up ahead, a thin smile formed on his face. After all, there's still magic on Saturday's rain, and he prayed that the magic would still be on his side (and yours) until you meet again.

a/n. i love to stay in when it rains on a saturday... also i can cancel on plans because it rains??? why do you want me to be out on a rainy saturday???

Therefore, I ask you to help me by donating or publishing the link to my campaign to everyone.

Hi hi đ
Hope you're having an amazing day!
I was hoping if you could write a small fic, where the reader actually has a little dream to kiss Chan in the rain but she's too shy to say it to him... You can elaborate this how ever you want, I'd love to see how this plays out, thank you so much
Big hug đ
Hi dear anon! sorry for taking so long to get back to youđ

and happy sunday! big hug to you too, dear anonđŤ

THIS IS SO DARN CUTEEEEE HELLPPP

pairing:Â Jeonghan x reader word count: 4.7k warnings:Â kissing, a swear or two, Jeonghan is wet and yes that's a warning, long-haired Jeonghan which is also a very serious warning

Authorâs Note: this fic is part of the Thirteen Valentines event, but can be read as a standalone! also, i would suggest listening to the song listed below to get a feel for the vibe of the fic, but itâs not necessary.

nonsense by sabrina carpenter
i'll be honest looking at you got me thinking nonsense cartwheels in my stomach when you walk in i canât find my chill, i must have lost it i don't even know, i'm talking nonsense

Yoon Jeonghan comes into your life with the same chaos and tumult of the heavy rain thatâs pounding down against your window.
Itâs during the middle of an October storm when he shows up at your door. There are loud knocks reverberating throughout your apartment, and you can hear a man calling out for someone named Soonyoung to just âlet him in alreadyâ. Itâs followed by more unintelligible mumbles, though you think you can make out the words ârainâ and âsoaking wetâ â you think there might be a few curse words thrown in there, too. Honestly, youâd have ignored the guy if he didnât sound so⌠defeated. But you feel bad, so you open the door.
And lock eyes with one of the most gorgeous men youâve ever seen.Â
Well, you think to yourself, damn.Â
You watch as the man in front of you stops mid-sentence and mid-knock, hand hanging in the air between the two of you for a moment. You take a moment to note the long, dark hair that falls just below his ears, the ends of it dripping rainwater onto his black leather jacket; the dark eyes, framed by some of the most beautiful eyelashes youâve ever seen. He blinks, a single droplet fluttering down onto his flushed cheek as he does. Then he drops his hand and straightens, wet hair clinging to his forehead â and he smiles.Â
âYouâre not Soonyoung.â
His words surprise you. The guy standing in front of you is definitely not who you had been expecting, either. Heâs gorgeous, rain-soaked and all. Youâre certain that youâve never seen him around here before, because you would definitely remember if you had.Â
âNo, Iâm not,â you affirm. You point over his shoulder to the door across the hall. âSoonyoungâs over there.âÂ
âAh,â he says slowly, smile turning sheepish, tucking his hands into the pockets of his jacket. He winces as soon as his fingers slide into the wet material, as if suddenly remembering the predicament heâs in, and you stifle a laugh. âIâm Jeonghan,â he adds, and you can tell that heâs attempting to play it cool despite how obviously displeased he is with the current events.
Jeonghan. A pretty name for a pretty guy, you think.Â
âHi, Jeonghan.â
His smile grows, and yours does too. âIâm one of Soonyoungâs friends,â he explains. âHe forgot to give me the code for the door downstairs, and he wasnât answering his buzzer...â He glances down at himself, soaked to the bone, and the smile falls from his lips. You canât help it â you let out the giggle youâve been suppressing. His gaze finds yours again at the sound, eyebrows raising, and you bite your lip.Â
âSorry,â you offer, semi-apologetic, though youâre still biting back a grin. âThat sucks.â
âThanks so much,â he returns, and you can hear the sarcasm in his voice. You hold up your hands in surrender, and then heâs smiling at you again, and â holy shit, heâs pretty.Â
Neither of you move, and itâs your turn to raise your eyebrows. Jeonghan seems to snap out of it, lifting a hand to run through his hair, and youâre almost embarrassed at the way you ogle him while he does. He doesnât seem to notice, thank god. Youâve never met this man before, but something tells you heâd be awfully smug if he knew. You donât look like that and not know it.
âI just moved into an apartment down the street,â he continues, âso Iâll be at Soonyoungâs more often.â He pauses, and then he smiles at you again â like heâs got a secret that you donât get to know. âIâll see you around?â
âSure. See you later, Jeonghan.â

You donât think too much about Jeonghan over the next couple of days. Work is busier than usual, so you get home late every day, exhausted â and you spend far too much money on takeout food. But today is finally Friday, so you treat yourself to an XL pizza with zero regrets. Youâll start making your own meals again tomorrow.Â
Youâre lounging on your couch, only half paying attention to the series playing on your TV screen, when you hear a knock on your door that shakes you out of your exhausted daze. Your eyebrows furrow. Usually, youâd have to let the delivery person in with your buzzer, but you suppose someone might have let them in the building.Â
You grab your wallet, flipping it open to take out your debit card. When you open your door, you freeze in your tracks, because itâs not the pizza delivery guy who stands on the other side. Itâs Jeonghan.Â
Your eyes take him in, head to toe, and you canât even be ashamed about it. You donât think you could look away if you tried. He looks different today â more put-together. A lot drier. Just as devastatingly beautiful, though. Youâd nearly forgotten.Â
âHi,â he breathes.Â
âHi,â you echo.Â
Then he does the thing that hooked you the first time youâd met â he smiles. He doesnât say anything else until you raise your eyebrows, and he seems to realize that itâs his turn to speak again.
âWhat are you paying me for?â
You blink. Then you remember youâre clutching your bank card in your hand, and you let out an awkward laugh. âThought you were the delivery guy.â
âSorry to disappoint,â he teases.Â
âI forgive you.â
Jeonghanâs smile widens, and you wait for him to continue. âI just wanted to say Iâm really sorry about last week,â he says, and you watch as he bites his lip with a sheepish smile. âNot a great first impression.â
You hum. âTrue. Youâre lucky I even opened the door that night, what with how crazy you sounded and all.âÂ
Youâre teasing, but heâs unflinching as he holds your gaze and responds, âYeah, I am lucky.â
You manage to keep your cool as you cross your arms, leaning against the doorframe, but youâd be lying if you said his blatant flirtation isnât working on you. âWell, youâre extra lucky I opened the door again today.â
He breaks out into a grin. âLike I said⌠I know.â
You donât even attempt to smile back â it just happens, involuntarily. God, heâs cute.Â
You wait again for him to say something. He doesnât. He just looks at you, and you start to feel a bit warm under his gaze. âWas there anything else?â You finally say. âI hope you didnât forget where Soonyoung lives again.â
âOh.â Jeonghan blinks, shaking his head. âNo. I just⌠didnât get your name last time.â
He seems to immediately regret how quickly heâs said the words, and you canât believe how absolutely endeared you are by it all. Something tells you that the man in front of you is usually better at this. It makes you flush, makes you feel far too giddy, to realize that you seem to be the reason heâs flustered.Â
âY/N,â you offer, and Jeonghanâs smile returns.Â
âY/N,â he repeats. âNice to meet you⌠Again.â
When he excuses himself towards Soonyoungâs and you close the door behind you, you donât even try to tamper down the grin thatâs on your face.
The next week, it takes everything in you not to think about Jeonghan.

Itâs Wednesday morning when you run into Soonyoung in the lobby by the post boxes. He looks like heâs just come from the gym, Nike bag slung over one shoulder as he flashes you a smile, lifting one hand in an excited wave.Â
âHey, Y/N!â
âHey,â you greet.Â
"How are you?"
His energy is contagious, and you can already feel your morning getting brighter just at the sight of him.
"I'm doing good, Soonyoung, thanks. How are you?"
"I'm great!" He turns to leave with another hearty wave, free hand now full of mail, and you wave back. Youâre startled when you hear his footsteps come to an abrupt halt. He calls your name again, and you turn to him in surprise.
âAre you busy Friday night?âÂ
Your eyes widen. âMe?â
Soonyoung giggles, nose scrunching up as he does. âNo, the mailbox.â
You blush. âRight. I donât think so, why?â
âIâm having a little gathering with some of my friends,â he tells you. âIf youâre home, Iâd love for you to come!â
Youâre caught off guard â and terribly, terribly pleased. Youâve always liked Soonyoungâs energy, and youâre honestly surprised you havenât hung out with him before. Plus, your mind supplies unhelpfully, Jeonghan might be there.
âThat sounds fun,â you say, brushing the thought aside, and Soonyoung beams.
âCool! People are coming around 8:00.â He grins. âYou know where to find me.â

On Friday, you cross the hall to Soonyoungâs just after 8:30pm. You were hoping Jeonghan would be there by now â because you donât know any of Soonyoungâs other friends, is what you tell yourself â but he isnât. Soonyoung greets you with a hug and a beaming smile, and he quickly pulls you into his apartment and introduces you to his other friends.
Itâs easy, you realize, to talk to them. You manage to entrench yourself deep into a conversation about the best ways to cook potatoes with his friend Mingyu, but your eyes still keep flickering to the front door against your will. Itâs just after 9:00 when Jeonghan finally arrives.
You try to play it cool when your eyes meet, as if you havenât been holding your breath waiting for him to arrive, your hand lifting to send him a small wave before you turn back to your conversation with Mingyu. You can feel Jeonghanâs eyes still on you, though, and it takes every effort you have in you to ignore the pull of his gaze.
Youâre surprised when Soonyoung plops down next to you, leaning forward to slap Mingyuâs knee. The younger man lets out a whine, but Soonyoung simply grins. Mingyu doesnât retaliate with anything more than a pout, even though he could easily win against Soonyoung in a fistfight. It makes you smile, how much they seem to genuinely like each other.Â
âY/N!â Soonyoung suddenly turns to you, and you startle. Â
âSoonyoung!â You say back, and you hear Mingyu snicker from his spot across from you.
âYouâre so cool,â Soonyoung gushes, and you can tell heâs a few drinks deep, but it makes you smile anyway. Youâre about to thank him when he continues, âIâm so glad Jeonghan suggested inviting you. I donât know why I never have before! Youâre super cool.â
You ignore the way your face flushes, and Soonyoung is thankfully too excited to notice.Â
âThanks, Soonyoung. Iâm glad to be here,â you say honestly, and youâre greeted with that blinding smile again in return. Youâve always thought that your neighbour was cute, and youâre quickly discovering that his personality absolutely matches your initial assessment.
As Soonyoung turns back to Mingyu and the two of them fall into an animated conversation, your eyes wander across the room, Soonyoungâs previous words replaying in your mind.Â
Jeonghan suggested inviting you.
Your eyes quickly find the man in question. Heâs leaning against the wall by the window now as he chats to his other friends. You watch him for a moment, a smile on your lips, and he must feel your gaze on him because he turns, soft brown eyes meeting yours. You donât look away this time, arching an eyebrow at him, and he easily returns the gesture. It makes you smile even more.
You excuse yourself from Soonyoung and Mingyu, heading into the kitchen. Youâve just found where Soonyoung keeps his glasses and are filling one up with water from the tap when you hear someone enter the room behind you.
âHey, 213.â
You try to be nonchalant when you turn, your eyebrows raised as you lift the glass to your lips. âI gave you my name⌠and for what?â
The smile on Jeonghanâs mouth grows. It really is quite something, the power that smile holds. âIâm so sorry,â he teases. âHi, Y/N.âÂ
The sound of your name coming from his mouth sounds even better today. âHi, Jeonghan.â
He leans against the counter, hands sliding into his pockets. âDid you have a good week?â
âI did,â you say honestly. âIt was a lot less busy than last week â which was nuts. I had like eight projects due andâŚâ You trail off, cheeks flushing as you realize youâd begun to ramble. So much for keeping your cool. What is it about this guy that lowers all your defenses? Youâve only met him twice before tonight.
You canât help it, though. You want to know more â you want to know everything about him. And whatâs even scarier is that you think you might want him to know everything about you, too.
âIâm glad,â is all he says, and you feel the sudden need to take another sip of water, averting your eyes.Â
âWhat about you?âÂ
He hums. âMine was good, too.â You can feel him looking at you, not saying anything until you meet his eyes again, and then he says, âItâs even better now.â
You donât have a chance to answer before a commotion sounds through the apartment, and the both of you jump. You follow Jeonghan back out into the living room, where you find two new faces at the door. The man beside you amusedly informs you that the newcomers are Seokmin and Seungkwan, or in other words, the two that encourage â and even join in on â all of Soonyoungâs bad ideas. The commotion youâd heard had been the result of a tipsy Soonyoung seeing his partners in crime and loudly cheering.
The moment with Jeonghan is lost as the two of you rejoin the party, but it's all you think about for the rest of the evening.Â

As the night goes on, you find that you really like Soonyoungâs friends. But after just one glass of wine and the clock passing 11:00pm, you can feel your energy draining. Youâre pretty sure Soonyoung himself is asleep in the armchair. You wait for Seungkwan to finish telling his story before you announce your plans to excuse yourself. The news is met with a chorus of awws and boos, but you know theyâre only teasing. You canât help but laugh at their antics, bidding your goodbyes as you stand and head for the door.
âIâll walk you home.â
You turn as Jeonghan speaks from behind you, ready to tease him because really? but heâs prepared for it, already grinning blindingly over at you before you can make a retort. You wonder how old he was when he learned the power of disarmament that his smile holds.Â
He opens the door and gestures for you to leave first, and you concede. You take the four steps out into the hall and across to your own apartment door, Jeonghan trailing behind you. As you pull out and insert your key, you glance at him and you say, âThanks for asking Soonyoung to invite me.â
You see Jeonghanâs eyes flash in surprise, but heâs quick to mask it. âNo problem,â he responds, a hand lifting to scratch the side of his jaw. He offers you a shy smile and you jokingly roll your eyes, but youâre smiling, too.
âWas it too hard to invite me yourself, or what?â
Jeonghan leans against the wall. If heâs phased by your bluntness, it doesnât show. âI didnât have any way to contact you.â
ââDidnâtâ, past tense?â Your door unlocks, and you gently push it open with one hand. âWhy, do you have a way to contact me now?â
Youâre teasing him, and you know he knows it. But all he does is smile, pushing off the wall as he fishes his phone out of his pocket and holds it out for you to take.Â
âYou tell me.â
You almost want to pretend to debate his proposal, but his eyes are so sincere as he waits that you just canât tease him. You knew from the second he took out his phone that you were going to give him your number, so whatâs the point in pretending?Â
Wordlessly, you take his phone and enter your information, trying to ignore the way you can feel him watching you. You hand it back to him without a word, contact info saved, and offer him a soft âgoodnightâ before you slip into your apartment.

Unknown Number [11:21pm]: hi :)
Y/N [11:23pm]: whoâs this? ;)
Jeonghan [11:24pm]: oh sorry, do i have the wrong number?Â
Jeonghan [11:24pm]: Iâll go
You bite your lip, clutching a pillow to your chest as you debate your answer. Youâre feeling so giddy, so shy â you even kick your feet a little. You think for a minute, debating whether or not to just go for it. You do.
Y/N [11:26pm]: please donât
You expect him to tease you for giving in so easily. He doesnât.
Jeonghan [11:27pm]: :)
Jeonghan (11:27pm]: hi, y/n

To your pleasant surprise, you end up spending more and more time across the hallway at Soonyoungâs over the next few weeks. He texts you the morning after his party and apologizes for how drunk he had gotten, and an hour later, you show up at his door with cookies and two bottles of purple Gatorade. The rest is history.Â
You really like Soonyoung. Heâs hilarious, and kind, and a little bit out there in all the best of ways. He appreciates your cooking, and you appreciate his taste in takeout food. He tolerates your rom coms and you tolerate his poor taste in TV sitcoms. Youâre grateful to have made a new friend, and you like spending time with him.Â
It doesnât hurt that Jeonghan stops by a couple of times, too. And every time, you willfully ignore the smug looks Soonyoung sends your way.
Itâs been over a month since you met Jeonghan. You text almost every day, and youâve seen him at Soonyoungâs almost every week since you met. He makes you laugh, he texts you good night, and youâve caught him looking at you on more than one occasion. And yet â he hasnât made a single move.Â
You think that maybe you should be the one to do it, but youâre unsure. You know heâs flirting with you â youâre not stupid â and you know heâs not shy about any of it. He has to know youâre flirting with him, too, because youâve never been more obvious about anything in your life, ever. You usually have no qualms about being the one to make a move first, but in these weeks getting to know Jeonghan, youâve learned some things.
One: Jeonghan has your favourite smile in the world.
Two: Heâs confident, and loves to tease.
Three: Heâs actually a giant softie.
You see his softness in so many ways. You see it in the way he remembers everything about his friends, from allergies to favourite colours; in the way he brought salt when he came over last week because he remembered Soonyoung ran out; in the way he pretends to complain but then watches his friendâs antics with the fondest of smiles.Â
And you wonder if maybe heâs as afraid of this new thing between you as you are.
So youâre giving him time.Â
But on nights like tonight, when Soonyoung purposefully moves to the armchair when Jeonghan arrives so that he can join you on the couch, when Jeonghanâs knee is pressed to yours and his arm is on the back of the couch, when you catch him staring during the movie and he doesnât look away â you think you might snap if he doesnât do something soon.

âI swear Iâve never seen Jeonghan this much in all the years Iâve known him,â Soonyoung comments out of the blue one Thursday evening.
It takes you a second to process what heâs said, your head lifting from your laptop to look at him. âOh.â You blink. âBecause he lives closer now, you mean?â
Soonyoung simply scoffs, and you distinctly feel like youâre missing something. He gives you a pointed look. âWe used to be roommates in uni, and I didnât even see him this much then.â You nod slowly, and Soonyoung rolls his eyes. He rolls his eyes. âHeâs obviously around more lately because of you, Y/N.â
The flush spreads all the way from your head to your toes. The idea of it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and you hide your face behind your laptop again. âShut up, Soonyoung.â
âAre you going to tell me you didnât notice?â
You pause, staring at your screen but not really seeing it. âI did notice,â you finally say softly. âButâŚâ
âBut what? Donât pretend youâre not just as down bad for him.â
You bite down on your lower lip, but you donât deny it. âHe hasnât said anything, Soonyoung.â
Soonyoung doesnât look at you as he casually says, âYeah, well, thatâs because Jeonghanâs a dumbass.â
You snort but donât respond, and the conversation is left at that.

Jeonghan [2:45pm]: what are you upto?
Y/N [2:48pm]: trying not to murder my new bookshelf before I even get it put upÂ
Y/N [2:48pm]: you?
Jeonghan [2:50pm]: haha oh no
Jeonghan [2:53pm]: i have to stop by Soonyoungâs on my way homeÂ
Jeonghan [2:53pm]: do you want some help?Â

Jeonghan, it turns out, isnât much help at all.Â
âYouâre worse than me!â
You canât stop laughing as Jeonghan stands there helplessly, both of you watching the bookshelf crumble for the third time in an hour. As the last piece hits the floor, he turns to pout at you.Â
âLetâs give up for now,â you offer, and you try to hold back your giggle at the indignant look on his face. You canât.
Jeonghan groans as you dissolve into another fit of laughter. He collapses down onto the couch next to you, his head falling back. His hair has gotten a bit longer recently since heâs started letting it grow out, and your eyes canât help but watch the way the dark strands fall over the back of your sofa. You suppress a shiver as you picture running your fingers through it, before shaking yourself out of it.Â
âWhy did you volunteer to help if youâre this bad at it?â You tease him one more time, and he opens one eye to glare at you.
âI didnât think it could be that much harder than Lego.â His voice is small when he says it, obviously embarrassed, and you try â you really try â not to laugh at him. Itâs futile.Â
âLego?â You repeat, and then youâre breaking into a fit of giggles again.
âHey! Iâll have you know I have a sick Lego collection at my place.â
âIâll believe it when I see it.â
âInviting yourself over so soon?â
You ignore the flutter in your tummy and opt for rolling your eyes as a response. âYouâre literally in my apartment right now, Jeonghan.â
He holds your gaze, the corner of his mouth lifting as he stares at you, and the butterflies take full flight, unable to stop that silly little feeling from settling deep in the pit of your stomach. âI am,â he hums. He breaks your gaze only to lift his head and glance around the living room, before his eyes settle on you again and he says, âI like it. Itâs very⌠you.â
âVery me?â You question, amused, leaning your elbow on the back of the couch and resting your head on it. âHow so?â
âYou know,â Jeonghan gestures vaguely, âcozy, warmâŚâ He smiles, and youâre so aware of just how close he is when he shifts to imitate your pose and finishes, âand, you know, beautiful.â
Your breath catches in spite of yourself. He flirts with you, you know this, but heâs never said anything outright like that before. His eyes begin to travel across your face, lazy and slow, the corner of his mouth lifting the longer he looks at you. His gaze lingers on your mouth, and yours lingers on his, and â
âDidnât you say you have to stop at Soonyoungâs for something?âÂ
You have absolutely no clue why you decided to whisper that right now. Jeonghan pulls back a little, slow and blinking. You wince when he looks away from you.
âOh,â he says, âyeah. Right.â He runs a hand through his hair. âI guess I should⌠go.âÂ
You try to meet his eyes, but in a moment of shyness that is so very un-Jeonghan, he refuses to look at you as he stands up. You want to beat yourself up for saying anything â youâd meant to tease him a little, not kick him out.
âJeonghan,â you say, and he stops making his way to the front door. He still doesnât look at you, though, and you force your next words to come out strong. âThe next time you want to see me, you can just ask. You donât have to use Soonyoung as an excuse.âÂ
He looks at you now, eyes lifting from the floor, and youâre so relieved that you let out a breath you didnât realize youâd been holding.
âI donât?â
âNo,â you shake your head, âbecause I want to see you, too.â
âYou⌠do?â
Youâve never seen him like this. He seems uncertain, unsure, and you feel horrible for trying to tease him when youâre certain heâd been about to make a move. âYes.â You nod, taking a step towards him. âJeonghan?â
âYeah?â His gaze is unwavering on you now.
âIâm sorry.â
âFor?âÂ
âI think you were going to kiss me just now, and I opened my big mouth instead of just letting you do it.âÂ
Jeonghanâs cheeks flush pink, and you can tell itâs taking everything in him not to turn away from you. Heâs embarrassed, which youâve never seen in the weeks that youâve known him, and it suddenly dawns on you that he probably thinks you didnât want to kiss him. Your heart drops into your toes.
âPlease kiss me, Jeonghan.â
Desperation is all you can hear as you say the words, and it would be your turn to be embarrassed if you didnât want it so badly. Want him so badly. His mouth opens and closes like a fish, his eyebrows furrowed as he tries to process. Youâve never seen him this speechless, either. Itâs a day of firsts.
âPlease.â
Your final word comes out in a plea, a near beg â another first. You donât care. You canât think about anything else.Â
He closes the gap before you can so much as breathe another word, hands flying to your jaw as he presses his mouth to yours, fiercer than anything you could have ever dreamed of. Your hands grasp onto his hoodie as you gasp, stumbling a little, but he doesnât let you get very far. And then youâre kissing him back, pulling him into you as close as he can go, closer, closer â and then even closer still. The way his mouth opens against yours, the way he moves as he kisses you stupid, has your knees nearly buckling underneath you.
Itâs him that breaks away first. Youâre breathless, and so is he, and neither of you says anything for a minute.Â
âYou wanted me to do that?â
You pull away to look up at him, his hands still on your face. âOnly since the first day I met you, you dumbass.â
âYouâŚâ
âYeah.â
His hands drop from your face before he pulls you with him to sit back on the couch. Your heart is racing as you wait for him to speak.Â
âYou like me?â
âWith all due respect,â you say incredulously, âyouâre literally so fucking stupid.â
Jeonghan pouts. âI thoughtâŚâ He runs a hand through his hair, and you resist the urge to do it for him. âI thought you and SoonyoungâŚâ
Your jaw drops. âMe and Soonyoung?!â
âYouâre always together! And you always talk about how cute he is ââ
âHe is cute, Jeonghan. But I definitely havenât been waiting for him to make out with me.â
Jeonghan groans, and heâs blushing again. âIâm sorry. I just⌠I didnât know if Soonyoung was into you, or if you were into him, because you guys get along so well, and he makes you laugh so much, andâŚâ He shrugs. âI didnât want to interfere if there was something going on there.âÂ
âJeonghan,â you say slowly. âDid you ever just⌠I donât know, ask Soonyoung if he likes me?â
Jeonghan blinks for a moment.Â
âAlso â do you not think you and I get along well?â Youâre teasing him now, and you watch as the realization dawns on him.Â
âIâm sorry,â he repeats, and youâre amazed yet again at the way you somehow manage to render him as bashful as this.Â
You reach for his hand, tugging him closer, and he comes willingly. You lift a hand to tuck a strand of hair behind his ear as you say, âYou can make it up to me somehow, Iâm sure.â
Youâre pleased when he seems to take that as a challenge.

PAIRING: bang chan x f!reader GENRE: fluff WC: 0.9k WARNINGS: none, just kisses:] a/n. [based on this request ! my brain never worked so quick when i saw a prompt. everyone say thank you anon for requesting heheh. also, sorry for taking so long to get back to you, dear anonđ]
âA penny for your thought?â Chan asked, taking a seat right next to you, making your whole body shiver when his arms brushed yours. You turned your head slightly, eyes landing quickly on the thing under his nose. You blink before forcing a smile. Act normal, please, act normal.
You really canât.
Itâs not like you havenât been kissed by him, who has been your boyfriend for the last couple of months. But it hits differently when you dream about a specific kissing scene. Maybe it was the influence of numerous romance dramas you watched, combined with the fact that you canât get enough of his kiss. Maybe youâre going crazy. Crazy in love. Or itâs a mix of both.
âA penny is too cheap,â you replied jokingly, trying to not sound too nervous. You donât dare to look at him again because your heart is starting to go thump-thump-thump under your ribcage and one look at Chan might just give you a heart attack on site.
The thing is you canât get the image out of your head. The dream you had last night. Of you and Chan. Kissing. Under the rain.
It always looks so romantic on TV, but you hate that the majority of them always start after a heated argument. You understand the desperation, you understand the appeal of the angst, but the dream you had last night was just⌠so⌠sweet.
âA kiss?â he offered leaning in your direction with a playful smile. Your eyes widen and you can feel heat spread across your face. Chan laughed a little before teasing you even more, making you stand up from the sofa. âYouâre blushing, you know that? Havenât I kissed my beautiful girlfriend today?â he asks, following you to the kitchen where you take a glass of water and drink it hastily. Praying that it could cool you down.
You glance out the window. These days the skies have been a bit moody and then as if on cue, it starts to rain.
Chanâs hand snake on your waist, hugging you from behind. The gears on your head are turning. You had to bring that image to life even if that meant youâll catch a cold afterwards. But how? You canât directly say to him that you want to kiss under the rain⌠It feels so childish⌠Besides, it will just catapult his ego out of this planet and he'll bring it up to you on all possible occasions.
âWhere are you?â Chan asked, pressing a kiss on the side of your temple. It feels like the contact of his lips and your skin turned on the switch in your brain.
You turned to face him, leaning in closer until your nose met each other. His eyes fluttered close, but you use that moment to escape his strong arms into the front door. In the back of your head, you can see him with a lowered head, hands on both hips, all while trying not to smile at your sudden prank. You let yourself roam the road, feeling the rain turn from a drizzle into a more constant shower.
Chan followed you out but made no movement to join you who started to run around in the empty road. Itâs been ages since you voluntarily stand under the rain and actually enjoy it. The rain always does an excellent job of washing away your worries for a while.
You stopped, with hands outstretched to him. Inviting. Waiting. Please take the bait, please take the bait, you wished. âCatch me if you can,â was the word you half-shouted to him.
He raised his eyebrow, seemingly unamused. Itâs a mental game, waiting around on who can stand being five feet away from each other. But like every other time, he loses this one too when he stepped out from the porch into the pouring rain.
You dodged him when he tried to trap you in a hug, laughing like a little kid. When you look at him, you swear that heâs the prettiest thing on earth. Heâs like a flower who just gets watered; vibrant, full of colors. And his smile, God, his smile is enough for you to stand under the rain forever.
You give up at last. Letting him attack you with tickles all over your body.
âI admit defeat,â you try to squeeze in between laughs. He stopped tickling without taking his hands off your waist. Pulling you closer and turning you to face him. âHi,â you said when you finally met Chan face to face.
âYouâre having too much fun for someone who might complain about their cold and runny nose the next couple of days, babe,â he said. You just smile sheepishly before tiptoeing to give him a quick kiss. âThatâs it?â he asks back. You nodded in reply. He tch-ed, head dipped to meet your trembling lips. You circle your hand on his neck as he lifts you up from the ground, spinning you around a bit. His lips taste like the honey chapstick he uses, warm against your own.
âThatâs definitely better than my dream,â you admit with a wide smile. Youâre cradling his head, forehead pressed against each other. Chan laughs earnestly, finally seeing behind the curtains.
âNext time you have some romance scenarios in your head, just tell me,â Chan offered. You roll your eyes, still holding the smile on your face.
What once woke you up from your sleep now becomes the image you see before you close your eyes. A thousand times better than any scenes you ever watch and definitely worth the cold that comes after too.
