SU theory about the elusive identity of Pink Diamond
Theory 1: I strongly believe that Rose is actually Pink Diamond and that she changed her name to Rose Quartz after rebelling against the other matriarchs, because she was against what they stood for and didn’t want to associate herself with them. It makes sense, seeing that Rose is at least on an aristocratic status. She is also more powerful than most gems. She was never a soldier gem (like ruby) nor was she a service gem (like pearl), she wasn’t built to fight/work/destroy (kinda like amethyst.) My theory is that she learned the art of combat (even though as a matriarch she doesn’t need to) because she planned on rebelling and knew she would need to learn to defend herself.
Theory 2: The matriarchs decided to disown her, after she decided to rebel against them, making her have to find a name for her own
Theory 3: Rose is the sister to Pink diamond, making her and Steven actual royal members themselves. The gems never told Steven about it, because it would upset him. He already knows that the gems first intentions were to destroy the planet, but maybe there are political entanglements behind some of the secrets that surround Rose and Pink Diamond.
