i like my pairing for a reason and i always want it to be them in different universes, under different circumstances and dynamics and i should be able to play around with that without someone in my ear telling me i'm breaking invisible rules.

the marauders fandom is the only fandom i've been in where "you can't use this trope for your pairing it belongs to *insert ship*" is a real argument people stand by.
