I just finished this set for @magicmeatweek! I was going for a rogue/assassin sort of vibe. This was my first foray into garment-style design, rather than armor-style! It was fun.
The lace-up-the-side hot pants I actually made early in the year. They were laser-cut and hand-stitched together. Man that stitching took a long time.
The open-front hoodie I just finished this afternoon, squeaking in just before the deadline for Magic Meat Week. I cut it all by hand and riveted the leather together.
I’ll get some nicer photos with a proper non-kitchen background sometime after Thanksgiving. Maybe toss in some extra straps and harnesses. But for now, this will do.

Just a fresh copy of this swamp creature mask in a color that I hadn't made it in before. Made for a customer on Etsy.

Playing with bronze again! I like metals that patina and show their age. Though the necklace at top is only like 3 weeks old. Bronze weathers fast, yo.
This weave is called Jens Pind Linkage, and it’s basically a spiral weave made with rings that are too tight (specifically, the gauge of the wire is too big relative to the diameter of the ring) for a normal spiral weave, so the only way to get them to go is to overlap them really carefully, and they end up locked in that position. It’s a fun weave to make, on the thin/delicate end of what I typically like, and wow I’m impressed with whoever it was who figured it out originally.
Anyway, as always it’s up on my Etsy!
Let's say someone happened to make the pattern flat, then turn it into a tube, how would that work?
It would be hard. I’ve ranted about this before, I don’t want to talk your ear off too much. There are a lot of points where you could easily make a mistake on the seam, which be really hard to identify and fix. You’d then really just have to stuff the tail with something to keep it round, since you wouldn’t be able to easily add internal supports as you went.

A tribal filigree mask I designed last year sometime but hadn’t gotten photos of! I like the relative scale between the size of the mask and the swirling slashes of holes cut into it. I’m just generally fond of designs where the primary component is the negative space.
So yeah. This design wasn’t specifically trying to depict anything in particular, it’s more just emulating the sort of tribal tattoo aesthetic that you see floating around all the time. The curling projections on the edges are kind of flame-like, or maybe they’re horns.
Whenever I’m taking photos I always joke around with my friends models. Otherwise, if you just put a camera in someone’s face, they end up just looking uncomfortable. But sometimes I like the silly photos more than the “good” ones.
I just posted this design up for sale on my Etsy shop, with the more “professional” photos.
