tryna figure out how I wanna draw this man (permanently missing some nails, partial reconstruction of septum, grey hair from follicular damage from inappropriately administered first aid and stress? not quite dad bod but heavier set...think thonk...)

Assessments

I was trying to find more ways apprentices could be assessed before becoming warriors that isn’t just generic hunting or joining in a battle near the end of their training. Here’s some of my ideas:

1. Trusting an apprentice to lead a hunting or border patrol. This would help them build leadership skills and their mentor and Clanmates can make judgments on how prepared they are for the responsibility. Plus if there is any trouble they’d have their Clanmates there to step in if it’s needed

2. Guarding/escorting. Either the medicine cats, queens, elders, etc.

3. Learning the basics of healing or gathering herbs for the medicine cat. I feel like this one should be used for cats who’re too battle hungry or disrespectful of medicine cats

4. Beating their mentor during training (simple and effective)

5. Challenging the leader in a friendly competition or fight

I want to add more to this, so if anyone has any suggestions please share!
