Petition to stop using "Ascendant Astarion" and just call him "Lord Astarion" cause is shorter to write lol

Okay, so we see how Astarion changes when he Ascends.

Imagine Tav doing the same. Vampire Spawns are supposed to be changed to align with evil in DnD, but let's set that aside and address the elephant in the room, something I have not seen brought up in any of the tags:

Tav may have gone through the bridal ritual, but they are not a normal vampire "bride" as Astarion is not a normal vampire lord. He's the Vampire Ascendant, a new creature that is found nowhere else. Anyone bitten by Astarion wouldn't be a normal spawn regardless and shouldn't there be some indication of that?

The ritual itself was supposed to be vile, and yet, we don't see much of that past the sacrifice of seven thousand and seven spawns. There are more pros than cons to ascending Astarion if I'm honest and that's somewhat broken if the ritual was supposed to be horrific. I think the use of spawn as a currency somewhat dampens the moment as they're already begging for death AND would be considered too much of a liability to release when someone is playing a good character with all of Baldur's Gate on the table. No "good" aligned character would do this. We've already talked about how a good chunk would most likely not go into the Underdark and try to cause chaos out of anger, frustration, and frenzied hunger yet this was considered the "good" ending for the Pale Elf quest. As I pointed out in another post, you aren't told that you can kill them after talking Astarion down either. Perhaps if they used living beings as the exchange since vampires are technically not supposed to HAVE souls, the choice would be harder.

Anyway, my idea is that Tav may be a step above vampire spawn even as a normal "spawn" of Astarion's, perhaps even above a vampire lord which could have consequences if the bite causes their entire demeanor to change. It could be for the better, aligning them further with Astarion with no interest in pulling away, or for the worse and they could end up trying to rival him rather than fall back on the idea of "good" as very few vampires tend to be "good". What if it gave Tav the ability to create spawn of their own or stuff a vampire lord should only have access to since Astarion is more powerful?

Hell, this is on top of Bhaal's blood... What would that be like?

People thought you are an ascendant only blog because you defended ascendant and fans, and your respond is appropriate due to the ridiculous hate ascendant get, even you got hate anon. Gentlemen (GN), I would like to take some time to address the rumors going around my blog. Some of you have come to believe that I like Astarion. Mainly the ascended version of him. That is simply not true.

I love ALL of Astarion.

I don't restrict myself. I love him as a Spawn, I love him as Ascended. I don't care. He's funny, mean, and will tell you to fuck off if you mess with his fun or try to play the "good guy" and take away his want for power or try to talk him down before the time comes. Astarion is Astarion, no matter what. When he stops doing this stuff, then he will no longer be Astarion.

All forms of him are compelling.

-I love being the Tav that goes looking for a cure for vampirism with his Spawn self, also helping him learn new abilities along the way.

-I love being the pampered dark consort that supports the lord's goals and dreams.

-I love being the Tav who was too logical in their decision that they made a devastating choice that may lead to imprisonment by a controlling vampire lord.

-I love being the Tav who didn't romance him during the run but became his best friend and confidant for either end, leaning into a romance later on. Could lead to a Phantom of the Opera or Beauty and the Beast-esque story.

-I love being someone from his past who either is killed, turned into a spawn, or has a reunion with him in the current day.

-I love being the Tav who's the spawn of another vampire and having him teach them to BE a spawn.

I love writing him as a sweetheart and learning how to find his own way to romance Tav, I love writing him as an absolute glorious bastard and I love writing him bloodthirsty and scary as hell because he's a fuckmothering vampire. Fluff, smut, angst, all of it.
