People need to stop praising Larian like they can’t do anything wrong. I know they’re awesome in many things, but they obviously bad at other things. I really need Larian to know that women abusers are abusers and it’s a serious problem. They minimize it so much in the games that so many players refuse to acknowledge. Gale one is very manipulative and not in the face situation, but Wyll one is right in the face 😭 how Larian handles them is so bad. I think Larian only sees them as little meanies

I'm not gonna lie, I usually play evil and my good runs with me actually paying attention have so far only just gotten to Act 2, so I can barely comment on Wyll and Gale's situations with proper perspective right now... But!

I will say from what I can see, you're certainly correct... unfortunately. The fact that your PC can sleep with Mizora and convince Gale to ask for forgiveness from Mystra is... interesting to me.

I think people tend to overanalyze Astarion and his story, to the point that they add details and meaning that is only there for them personally based on their own perspective and experiences.

But people tend to under-analyze Mystra and Mizora and the full release game certainly downplays it all which only reinforced that. I think that EA Gale had a much more clearly turbulent grooming experience with Mystra and that dialog got dialed back in the full release of the game.

I do wish Larian would give that perspective a bigger spotlight. Female abusers do exist and it's not sexy.

Why are you dressing him with this particular thing? Why are you making him a dad? Why aren't you? And my personal favorite, why are you healing him? Oh no, oh my, why are you "defanging" him? How dare you prefer the elven part rather than the vampire part???????

Why are you having headcanons and why are you enjoying your own personal stories differently than I am???

Rarely have I seen a fandom that is gatekeeping every single tiny detail, like the Astarion fandom does. It's really quite tiresome.

Yeah, there are headcanons others have that I am personally not into, but I'm not gonna scream and throw tantrums about it.

Just enjoy your stories and whatever tickles your brain and let others do the same.

Other people's stories and headcanons do not threaten yours and none of us has a doctorate in Astarionism, nor do we own the character.

I'm finally happy with his face! Although something tells me I have many, many more hours to go...at the very least I want to have a presentable WIP for when I meet Neil Newbon at Fan Expo Chicago (where I'm tabling at booth A210 BTW :3)
