synopsis » as a figure skater, the cold that came from being on the ice was all you had ever known. yet as you were in your boyfriend's arms, the freezing rink you were practicing in couldn't have felt warmer.

a/n » honestly this is kind of bad but i had a dream about sunghoon and it prompted me to write this so.. here it is <3

sunghoon was undoubtedly a hardworking person; you of all people could vouch for that, having seen him spend hours upon hours honing his skills on the ice ever since you two were children. he rarely got distracted from practicing, refusing to stop until he had perfected every move in his routine.

but the times he did get distracted? the reason was the same each time, you. he thought of himself as someone who was focused on what he needed to get done, and yet he found his resolve crumbling as soon as his eyes landed on you entering the training centre after your classes had ended.

he tried willing himself to keep practicing, but no matter how hard he tried, his efforts always end up being in vain when you shot him a knowing smile, opening your arms for him to bury himself in. you knew you had training to do as well, but you couldn't help giving in to his demands when he told you to let him bask in your embrace for just a few more minutes.

it must've looked strange to bypassers — two skaters holding each other at the edge of the rink they were supposed to be rehearsing in. you never cared enough to address their confusion, and although sunghoon wasn't usually fond of public displays of affection, he wasn't bothered by it either.

he was a hardworking person, and that was exactly why you indulged him like this. all the built-up stress and worries he held melted off of his shoulders at the feeling of your familiar warmth engulfing him, a lovesick grin forming on his face as he held onto your waist to make sure you weren't going anywhere.

seeing him so content tugged at your heartstrings in a way you hadn't even known was possible, and you knew you'd do anything for him to stay this happy. the skating rink was bitterly cold, and yet you felt so unbelievably warm when you were with sunghoon.

'just a few more minutes,' you told yourself as you felt him nuzzling his face into the crook of your neck all too endearingly.
