Tove Jansson (9 August 1914 - 27 June 2001), Author, Painter, Illustrator. Although Mostly Known For

Tove Jansson (9 August 1914 - 27 June 2001), author, painter, illustrator. Although mostly known for her comic strips and children’s books about the Moomins (white roundish troll creatures), she considered herself a more serious artist first and foremost. The Moomins gained more and more popularity, eventually becoming an entire franchise with tv series, toys and theme parks. The books meanwhile grew darker and more melancholy. Jansson ultimately grew tired of her little trolls and started focusing entirely on her paintings and writings for adults.
Ink, watercolours and markers.
Update: So this piece is getting quite a bit of attention all of a sudden. Thanks, people! It's very much appreciated. Would Tove feel the same I wonder?

Kwaidan: The Woman of the Snow
Inspired by the 1964 anthology film Kwaidan. The Snow woman, or Yuki-onna, is a spirit in Japanese folklore. She often appears during snowstorms, leading travelers astray, or using her breath to freeze them to death.

Clouds flowing over a mountainside, somewhere in Geargevággi. In the foreground can be seen the remains of a previous expedition.
Part 1 in a more or less truthful documentation of my journey through the wild and isolated Geargevággi (Northern Sami: ”Stone Valley”) in the northernmost parts of Sweden.
