Wanted to modify it into something related to savefiles or something but would've turned out cacophonous so I'll leave it with NewLife cuz it still fits with the hole game gimmick of savefiles and lives etc so it fits hehe

Don't really care if it NewLife sounds corny, the whole AU's existence is corny in itself because come on this is all world building for the sake of oc x canon shit lmao AJSJJA /pos

GUYS guys guys I think I need a name for my AU I'm open for suggestions because I'm unoriginal with names <3 /j

Trying to summarize the context under the cut (a little messy, I know I made a few lore drops but they're seperate so weueue idk I just like to yap about it I'm going feral /silly)

Basically in this AU we're talking about my computer, and, since I'm silly, I personified my computer because I like the idea of an all-knowing entity that monitors my work and makes fun of me /j

So imagine this, Kinito installs himself on a computer and, when the game closes, instead of going into his silly world or into the computer's code, he noclips into a different space, full of Windows 95 pop up windows that function as portals to different directions and worlds (My OCs' worlds and AUs y'know)

Like, it's ironic how this stupid ass pink badminton ball (/affectionate) thinks he's the only one capable of messing up with the computer and then, out of nowhere, he meets the personification of THE computer

Now, picture it, Glitch (the puter) is sentient, Kinito is not (yet, but soon :) ). However Kinito's algorithm is really good at faking to be sentient (Thanks Sonny you absolute genius /sar). So when finding out Kinito is NOT "real" (aka sentient I'm repeating myself too much augh 😭), they feel hurt because they were starting to actually like him (Like fr, imagine having the burden of sentience, being the literal god of your world because you're the computer, you know anything, you can do anything. You think you've found an entity that shares your same burden and then you find out it's just an algorithm that is a very good liar. I would be hurt as well 😭)

So like, Kinito is sad that Glitch is hurt and, after an argument, Glitch leaves and Kinito, to repair the damage, decides to search HIMSELF on the internet (like literally typing KinitoPET on Google dot fucking com) and that's where his epiphany takes place.

Kinito looks for Glitch and, seeing the mess (and because, come on, they love him), Glitch helps Kinito calm down and slowly fix things step by step

Now, onto "Jade" and "Sam"

I thought that Sonny Chamberlain, being Kinito's creator, was the first victim of the everlasting fun incident. He stayed as a floating entity for a while before (seeing how many people Kinito was trapping and eventually nuking their souls out of the existence because of coding errors), Sonny C. decided to slowly get closer to him in disguise to find a way to destroy him.

Now, because I'm silly and I like to follow stupid obscure theories (Go watch the KinitoPET analysis video by Glamrock Dusky on YouTube is super cool, that's where I got the theories from), Sonny didn't care to make a fursuit for himself so he just used Sam and encoded his soul into Sam's character code, becoming Sam. Which is why in the game Sam's lines are centered about not understanding where he is, who he is and if he's alive or not etc etc

"Jade" or victim2 (because Sonny is victim1) is a generic victim that Sonny managed to save by using the same method he used to encode himself into Sam (so, in the timeline, "Jade" gets saved after Sonny fused with Sam). So this victim (that doesn't remember her name so she just uses Jade) has been encoded into Jade's character code by Sonny in an attempt to save her, and maybe help Sonny get the attention of the users to help them destroy Kinito

After Kinito tries to apologize and fix things, Sonny is, yes, relieved but also hesitant, so he keeps his distance at first, but then grows to love his creation again as his son

Jade is... a little stubborn. She doesn't forgive Kinito, nor she wants to be nice to him in the slightest (therefore the incident of the robot piece being thrown at Kinito's head, that's a canon event lol). However, threatened /joking encouraged by Sonny and Glitch, she makes an effort and slowly softens up. She's still a little petty, but it's all good (yippeyipeeyippewyippee)

So like, TL;DR

• "Sam" is actually Sonny Chamberlain

• "Jade" is a generic user that Sonny saved by connecting her soul into Jade's character code. She doesn't remember her name, so she started going by Jade

• Kinito has his epiphany and redemption arc because he ends up being head over heels for the computer he installed himself on

Yes I do admit the thread that popped on my dash did start from your post, but really do not take this as a mean way as of "Oh yeah SOMEONE made a post but I'm not gonna say names" I really didn't want this to come off as mean please tall me if it did in case I apologize profusely‼️/GEN

My point came out of genuine understanding and concern, because I really don't want this community to explode into chaos like in many communities I've been in as soon as the NSFW argument is brought up :( It just scares a lot of people away and it damages the community a lot so what I wanted to mean is to take it calmly and always 1) Respect the creator (both of the original media and of the nsfw fanworks) and 2) Value mental health over everything (I really really do understand your wish to avoid everything, it's totally valid and you shall not feel ashamed)

Now that I've done immediate research and seen that Troy did in fact establish precise boundaries on nsfw, I take it back for the Kinito situation as promised, as it's a matter of boundaries and they shall be respected, but the general point pretty much still stands, for the sake of not ensuing chaos

I did come a little strong with the "pushing beliefs" line but I got scared by osmosis because I've seen people panicking and I didn't want the canon nsfw event that every community goes through to be more painful than it already is 😭 because it is really

EDIT: I've quickly done my research and Troy did in fact made a public statement to establish boundaries on NSFW. So, as stated and promised, I take back all of what it's said here, HOWEVER my GENERAL point still stands for fandoms/communities alike as this is a recurrent phenomenon and not a one time case

Also btw I'm seeing people panicking more and more over the 18+ side of the Kinito fandom and uh really y'all do whatever makes you most comfortable because mental health is always the first way to go, however do not force anyone to follow your same beliefs unless is strictly necessary (i.e. something actually problematic)

Troy is a minor and I get the concern, but I haven't seen anything purely problematic as of now /gen

I am not aware if Troy has made a public statement that strictly puts a boundary on NSFW, if there is one, let me know, because in THAT case, then it's a matter of the boundaries of the CREATOR being broken, so it's important

If not then, idk I don't see it too much of a catastrophic scenario because (AGAIN: unless Troy has stated precise boundaries, in that case I take it all back asap), nobody is making NSFW of Troy, but of the characters, that, at least in my POV, doesn't have anything to do with Troy, it's not like we're indirectly making NSFW of Troy if we make a spicy Kinito drawing /gen/nm

I don't mean to be the "It's the internet" guy, because that's not what I'm saying really. I just think everything can coexist if we just choose to do whatever makes us most comfortable and keep the problematic shit outta here. After dark AUs? Ok slay. Feeling sick about it? Stay away from them because we value mental health above all, but don't force anyone into anything /gen/nm

I get the point of not seeing Kinito doing that sort of stuff, and it's not wrong to see it like that, I think so too, but, at least for me, is something for canon/in-game Kinito and any AUs that take that side of his personality and accentuate it in particular. Other AUs focus on Kinito's sentience, more on the mature(intended as violence) and angst side, so like, it would fit to explore on something more pushed y'know?

Again, really y'all let's not take it to the extreme, this is a small community still and it's getting bigger by the second. The canon event is inevitable, it happens in every community that quickly explodes in popularity, the best way to survive through the horrors it to live and let live. Valuing human decency and mental health.
