Still reeling over the fact that these particular lines Qimir says can be interpreted in two very different ways:

He’s telling Sol thank you for leading him to finding Mae (he was trying to get to her to finish what they started on Olega) and that because Sol lead him to Mae he’s sarcastically saying he and Sol make a great team.

He’s saying he’s grateful for Sol’s betrayal of Osha and web of lies he hid because now he’s lead him to Osha and he’s now found his equal who will make a great partner (team) with him.

Honestly the scriptwriters did their very big one with this entire series and I love it here 🥰

Very interested in how Qimir kind of let his mask fall when he realized “Mae” was actually Osha in ep 2. Like immediately when he says “you look just like her”, his whole demeanor changes from the jovial non threatening potion master that he played for Mae, into a character much more similar to the version we see when his literal mask falls in ep 5.

Osha, baby, if a man heals your injuries, puts you under the covers, makes you food, kills your jedi family, takes you on vacation to an unknown planet, that’s a high value man right there.

Call me old fashion but I was raised to cook and clean for MY Sith Lord.

Star wars IS sexy and ep6 was full of intentional and very much sexual - phallic - innuendos, Amandla and Manny being like wtf reading the final draft of ep6 but they still gave it their all and brought us all these amazing scenes between their characters without it being too cringe or cheesy and omg I love them *sobbing*

Osha is desperately in need of connection and understanding. The Stranger is kind of the first person to provide that for her in a truly authentic way, without trying to make her be anything else [...] I think that kind of understanding has a lot of romantic tension in it. “Did you give the same pitch to my sister?”

There’s so much complexity in this very loaded question. I keep thinking about it. What might’ve happened had Qimir confirmed her suspicions, reinforcing her internalized belief that no one saw her as special or different to Mae? That this stunningly handsome man, full of his own contradictions, gave the same tending to her twin?

Time and again she reiterates, “I’m not my sister”, and this is purposeful. Osha craves to have things that are hers and hers alone, as her insecurities are most prevalent when Mae is brought up. Obvious (and legitimate) cautions aside, I think Osha feels that all Qimir wants is someone who functions as a more docile, physically identical Mae. Initially Mae was more gifted in the Force, a better fighter, held more confidence, had longer hair, and strutted like she commanded any room. She served her Master for years until recently, so all these factors are considerations in Osha’s mind. And this is on top of everything else that makes her attraction to Qimir forbidden as it is.

I also don’t think Osha sees herself as all that beautiful, much less as beautiful as Mae. Because of this, his obsession fascination with her comes off as insincere at best and humiliating at worst (in her mind). As if to toy with her hesitant desire - play with her fragile emotions. She can’t imagine him choosing her, or wanting her for who she is.

I hope Osha’s inner monologue is explored more next season.

The way he bit his lip and looked at her when he realized she wasn’t Mae? Throwing her out of the fight when he had no problem straight up murdering everyone else? Healing her? Putting a blanket on her? Caressing her arm after throwing the blanket on her????????

The way they’re subtly eyef*cking checking out each other with bedroom eyes is crazyyyyyy. They’re NOT beating the desperate for each other allegations.

Qimir really is gonna say, "Well, Mae, since you back-stabbed me, I'm gonna sweep your twin sister off her feet, marry her, then you're not invited to the wedding!"

the reason qimir never let mae see his face (as the stranger/sith) is because she needed a strong authoritative figure to latch onto (and possibly project a parental role onto). osha, though, already had something like that within the jedi order— something she chose to reject. thus, qimir had to present himself in a way that contrasted all the jedi ideals osha grew up internalizing. he’s attempting to draw her in through her need of deep emotional/personal connection. he brought her into his home, treated her as a guest, and reminisced to her about their shared past. he is attempting a literal seduction to the dark side. in this essay i will—

I know we all know that Qimir is a simp for Osha, but I don’t think we’ve all realized how extremely horrendously viciously down bad he actually is.

Bc this scene is so interesting, right? I need you all to let it sink in that Qimir had all the opportunity here post-Sol to rush to his ship and far away from Vernestra as he possibly could, he had ample time to escape this planet, especially since he technically had no reason to stay.

But nah. Instead of escaping from the Jedi and Vernestra, Qimir still turned to find Osha considering that she rejected his offer of being his pupil twice and he came back for her anyway.

The Jedi teach there's only one way to access the Force, and if you don't do it their way, it fades. But there is another way. Below the surface of consciousness are powerful emotions. Anger. Fear. Loss... Desire. That's the path to the dark side. Semantics. The Acolyte (2024)
