Notes: So, there is no smut in this part of the fic, but the warnings above list what is to come. Heed them before even starting this fic. Originally, we thought about posting just the smut part of it, but while cleaning this fic up, we decided to expand upon the idea and now it’s a goddamn multi-chapter. The second chapter (where the fun begins) will probably be posted soon, but this fic is much lower priority than Original Sin, so it won’t be updated as much as that one. This is a little strange, but we hope you enjoy it, regardless. Alternate Universe.

Chapter one – Something wicked this way comes.

“Some bitch is loose in the wards,” Nishiki says.

“That’s rather rude, don’t you think?” Ken asks. He sits at the head of the table, bringing his gloved hand to his chin as he observes his longest standing advisor. He hadn’t expected to be called in so late at night to take care of a problem. Usually, his advisors were able to discuss among themselves and come up with a solution on their own. If Nishiki had demanded that he hold this meeting, it must have been serious.

Still, there was no need to be rude.

“I’ll call her what I like,” his friend says, annoyed. “She’s running wild – killing humans left and right, and she’s already killed everyone that we’ve sent after her. This has been going on for weeks.”

Weeks?

“Why am I only hearing about it now, then?” That was concerning. There hadn’t been a ghoul of that caliber for quite some time now. Years, in fact. He had gotten rid of them all during his rise to power and the first year of his reign over the 18th to 24th ward.  Even the CCG had become less of a problem as the years had passed. Now, even they didn’t try to set foot into his territory. It had become known as an instant death sentence.

Ghouls and humans alike knew better than to start trouble over the One Eyed King’s wards.

“We tried to handle it,” Nishiki explains, and Hide and Tsukiyama nod from beside him. Hide is the next to speak. “My information network was the first to detect that anything was wrong three weeks ago.”

“Humans were turning up dead, eaten – sometimes several bodies at a time,” he says grimly. This had to be serious if even his normally chipper friend was refraining from cracking a single joke. “It has to be a binge eater, but she’s a powerful one. As Nishiki-senpai said, we sent some people after her, and they either were killed or severely injured from even trying to lay a hand on her.

“Who did you send?”

“The probationary squad.”

So, the squad of ghouls who had tried to rebel and kill other humans for food in his wards before being reined in. This had probably been their opportunity to prove themselves as loyal and reformed. Clearly, they had failed.  If she was that troublesome, it was probably for the best that none of his people had been sent in. Ken’s expression turns grim. “And how did this ghoul even get into the wards?”

“We lost contact with some of the guards at the entrance to the 20th ward,” Hide explains, crossing his arms. “When we went to investigate, they were all injured, saying that some wild woman had battered at the RC wall of flesh until it gave way – and then she attacked them. They fell back so that wouldn’t be killed. We weren’t able to find her, but humans started turning up dead soon after.

He sighs, “It’s not good – we only get humans agreeing to live here as long as they’re protected. They donate their bodies after they die, but they don’t want to be slaughtered for food, Kaneki,” he says tiredly. “Some people already want to leave.”

Ken nods, thinking.

A female binge eater? And a powerful one at that? His lips quirk. It almost sounds nostalgic.

“Let’s not waste time, then.”
