mark lee has freckles everyone
I’ve said this before but it’s not just that Aang’s childishness can coexist with his wisdom it’s that they come from the same place. It took me twenty years to accept that it was okay to seek joy and love and that it was okay not to apologize for the things that made me happy. Aang had that innate sense of himself and self-confidence at age 12, and retained that sense of self and self-confidence through several harrowing ordeals, and forged his own path despite what his friends and his past lives wanted him to do. Aang’s wisdom in trusting himself and in being himself in a world that was deeply hostile to his existence and entire way of looking at the world is the core of his character and the reason that he is a hero. And yeah, maybe part of that is him being “childish” even at the end of book 3 but honestly, in a world where all these kids had to grow up so fast, Aang being a kid at the end of the show is not a failing, it’s a virtue. It’s a demonstration of how certain he is of himself and his place in the world.

this was funnier in my head 😭
