I feel like everyone is overlooking the socio-economic politics embedded in Goncharov (1973).

One of the main themes in the film is time and fighting against a clock that will count down no matter what you do, but the unique societal positions of the characters contribute to this in such interesting ways.
Scorsese clearly did thorough research into the Italian and Russian culture and society during the movies timeframe.
I just really want more political and economic analysis of Goncharov because I think it’s super interesting and opens a lot of new discussions and avenues for dissecting and understanding the film.
