Gods how I've missed this site. I basically grew up on here. I used to have 18 blogs on two accounts dedicated to a range of different topics.

Now I'm seeing some migration to tumblr from twitter and I'm totally here for it. Not sure I believe this is the future, there was a reason we all moved off tumblr after all, but I have covid and how better to entertain myself than to see if tumblr is really dead?

I also feel like going through some of my old blogs and see what can be redeemed and what is purely cringe.

I propose this as the new bi flag.

Specifically, I like that this design highlights diversity among bisexuals, abolishes the 50/50 standard, and focuses on actual bisexuals (as traditionally signified by the purple area of Michael Page’s design) rather than giving 80% of the space to homosexuals and straights ppl, while still preserving some contiuity with the cherished old design.

I took the outer two colors from this post by @dogsbeesandhalloween (please alert me if you mind that I used them; if you do I will take this post down and come up with slightly different hues).

Yeah, well. This might be an unpopular opinion. But it’s probably the most important thing I’ve learned (and I mean: really learned) since joining the debates around gender and orientation as anything more than a bystander.

If you get deep enough into a current debate and think critically enough to form an actual opinion, then there’s always gonna be someone who hates your opinion. There’s probably even gonna be people who hate you by extension. You’re not going to be able to get it right, find the golden middle that makes everybody love you and each other.

But that’s okay. Because there will be people who will think like you. And there will be people who don’t care either way. And how right an opinion is does not hinge on how many people defend it.

And it’s possible to have an opinion anyway. And it’s possible to be aware that you might be wrong, that you might learn something tomorrow that makes you change the way you think, and it’s possible to leave room for that. And it’s possible to listen to people who think differently from you, and respect them and be respected by them, while still disagreeing.

And it’s possible that none of the people you’ve heard so far were right.

TL;DR: Having opinions is, by necessity, uncomfortable.
