Something that bothers me:

At 16 years old, should I have a political opinion? I mean, an opinion more refined than “All things have a right to grow” and “Fuckyeah democracy”? Because if so, then I am very, very much behind on that. And forming an opinion is going to involve a lot of intense studying. I dislike studying. And on top of that, in politics it appears that there is no possible way to be right. It sounds like a lot of work for nothing tangible at all. Still, I feel guilty for being so ignorant…?

It’s absolutely heart-breaking and a morbid kind of funny how we tend to hold on to the things that are hurting us. Killing us, even. Our addictions, our abusers, our disorders, our ways of thinking. And woe betide those who try to save us from ourselves.

I'm sad I lost this ability.
