The series reminded me why I fell in love with Fallout all those years ago

fallout tv series + game dialogue, & a niggling suspicion that this bullshit is going to be my personality for a while

crawled out of my art block cave to draw this

okey dokey đ
I get the impression that the people who hate the Fallout TV show are the people that wanted to hate the Fallout TV show.
The new Vegas Tribes having to learn to read, write, do math, and every casino game on earth along with customer service etiquette in the span of like a month or else this gambling Walt Disney Knockoff theyâve never met is going to gun them down with big fuck machines theyâve seen for the first time in their life. Not to mention they have to learn how to tie a tie:

List of New Vegas references in the Fallout show that I currently know of
The Sunset Sasparilla logo shows up a couple times
Robert House makes an appearance at a Vault-Tec meeting
Frederick Sinclair, founder of the Sierre Madre, appears as a representative of Big MT
Julia Masters, who was first mentioned in New Vegas, appears as a representative of REPCONN, which I think also first appeared in New Vegas
Literal New Vegas shows up
Secruritrons in the credits of final episode
Edit: The Tops and the Lucky 38 are shown in the end credit sequence, donât remember catching the other ones
I may have missed some but you can see why I doubt they retconned New Vegas when they take so much from the game
fallout fans freaking out about shady sands as if the motto of fallout isnât âwar never changes.â iâm sorry but did you guys really think the highly expansionist imperialist society that considers itself the inheritor of pre-war values would be immune to exploding too orâ

Yes, these Muppets have taken Manhattan. The question now is can they HOLD it

Valyrian Name Meanings
I am just really too into baby names and High Valyrian, so here comes a long post about both. So what follows is my headcanon completely, though certain choices (i.e. Aegon) I feel are just too coincidental for David J. Peterson not to have done it on purpose.Â
Based on established Valyrian words, grouped by root
Aegon: from Äegenkon, iron
Aelor, Aelora, Aelyx: from Älie, first
Aemon, Aemond, Aemma: from aemagon or emagon, to have, own, or contain
Aenys, Aenar: from añogar, blood
Aerea, Aerion, Aerys: from aeragon or aerÄbagon, to travel
Aethan: from itatagon, to finish
Alyssa, Alysanne: from Älion, a piece of land
Baelon, Baela, Baelor: from baelagon, to help
Corlys, Corwyn: from korzion, Valyrian steel
Daemion, Daemon: from tÄmagon, to prick or poke
Daeron, Daella: from dÄez, free
Elaena, Helaena, Laena, Laenor: from elÄni, voice or music
Gael: from gÄlyn, debt
Gaemon: from gÄlyn, debt, and mĆris, end
Jacaerys: from jaes, deity, and sÄter, spell
Jaehaerys, Jaehaera: from jaes, deity, and aeragon or aerÄbagon, to travel
Jaenara: from jaes, deity, and ñages, dawn
Lucerys: from loktys, sailor, and sÄter, spell
Maegelle, Maegon, Maegor, Maekar: from maege, prudent or practical, also the root for maegi
Monterys: from manda, kind or courteous
Naerys: from naena, multitude
Rhaegar: from rhÄdegon, to be known, to have renown
Rhaelle, Rhaella, Rhae: from rÄelagon, to keep or maintain
Rhaenys, Rhaena, Rhaenyra: from rhaenagon, to find
Saera, Shaera: from zÄeres, crystal
Shaena: from saelie, third
Vaella, Vaegon: from vÄzos, sun
Vaemond: from vÄzos, sun, and mĆris, end
Valarr, Valerion, Valaena: from valenka, male or masculine
Visenya, Viserys, Viserra: from vestriarzir, story
Based on my own headcanon words
Daena, Daenys, Daenara, Daenerys: from dÄnas, lamp or lamplighter
Maelor: from maelagon, to wander
Matarys: from matarion, fountain
For notes on the gendering of Valyrian names:Â
Some names, namely Aemond, Vaemond, Gael, and Rhaelle, do not decline normally in High Valyrian from what I can tell, though if someone can tell me otherwise I will gladly listen. However, for now I am going to chalk these up as Westerosi influence, and gender the first two as terrestrial-gendered names, and the other two as aquatic gender. I am pulling the rest of this essay completely from my mind, so be warned!
Obviously, the four Valyrian genders (lunar, solar, aquatic, and terrestrial) donât map exactly onto the male/female naming scheme, but it does seem that the lunar gender is exclusively for female names, though of course this has more to do with GRRM using English naming conventions, and I will also chalk this up to Andal influence as well. Terrestrial gendered names similarly seem masculine-leaning, though there is the notable exception of Alysanne, which I have in the past put down as âAlisÄnâ when referring to her in High Valyrian.
Now, this may be overcomplicating things, but I would just really love it if the gendering of these names was significant- I am basing this a little bit on Chinese baby naming where the radicals that make up a kidâs name are treated superstitiously. When it comes to baby names, I lean more towards the idea that they reveal more about the parents than about the kid themselves, but Valyria also has access to dragon dreamers and prophecy, which does lend itself to the idea that the parents might use some vision of their childâs future to inform their name. Also, the further removed Valyrian speakers are away from the culture, this importance might fade away entirely in favor of what sounds good to the parent- there are only a few names from here that we know came from Valyria itself: Aenar, Daenys, Gaemon, and Jaenara.
Anyway, solar and lunar gendered terms are mostly reserved for humans, so I think gendered names here may center the meaning of the name around the character of the child itself. Solar gendered terms include names of occupations, so I think perhaps solar gendered names refer to what a parent might wish for what the child might do, or a great deed- so it may be a sign of ambition or dreams for a child. Lunar terms in turn might instead refer to traits, so what the child might be, so more like virtue names in English. So we might be able to relate this difference with the name root âRhaen-â. In the name Rhaenys, the meaning could be interpreted as âfinder,â while in Rhaena or Rhaenyra, it would be closer to âfound.â
On the other hand, I think aquatic and terrestrial might refer to events that might happen in a childâs life- so this may refer to a prophetic knowledge of what is to come in the child's life. The genders themselves fit their names pretty closely: aquatic gender terms tend to refer to things related to liquids, and terrestrial gender terms tend to refer to things related to the earth. Aquatic gender I think would refer to a pivotal moment in a childâs life- not necessarily good or bad, but a moment that changes the course of a life. Sort of like the sea giving and taking away.
I think terrestrial gendered names might be sort of protective charms, like a shield against terrible events. So we might be able to relate this difference with the name root âMaeg-â. In the names Maegor and Maekar, it would indicate âhe will become prudentâ, while in Maegon, it would indicate a âmay he be prudent because he needs to be.â I think this also adds a new dimension to every single one of Jaehaerysâ sons having a terrestrial gendered name.
To make a full summary with a new name, I am going to be using the name root âBael-â, which we have examples of three genders for. The one we donât have, solar, I am going to invent, Baelys, might mean âhelper.â In lunar gender, Baela, it might mean âhelpfulâ. In aquatic gender, Baelor, it might mean âhe will help/be helped and change his lifeâ. In terrestrial gender, Baelon, it would mean âmay he be helped when he needs it.â
So there you have it! My unnecessary but super fun headcanons about Valyrian baby names! Thanks for reading this essay.
This whole thread has killed me

The X-Men: Evolution gang, by Lukas Werneck!

Marvel released a preview for the Ultimate X-Men series coming out next March!
source here
In addition to Armor, it looks like Peach Momoko was allowed to bring Maystorm into the mix! Maystorm was originally part of a concept variant cover series, where artists created new proteges based on iconic Marvel characters, dubbed the "New Champions Variant Covers." This one was from X-Men #27, I believe
Maystorm is a Japanese girl that idolizes Ororo Munroe/Storm. Her powers are weather-related and according to Momoko's Instagram "May Storm in Japan is a spring storm that happens during the end of April to May."

Teenagers, amirite?

I am going back through my archives to post and collect content that I might have missed. Indeed I never posted a compilation of my remastered Slaughterhouse Horrors here. So here you go.
You can find the full PDF for free on my patreon!

Places you should add to your little town/city in your fantasy world!!
Post offices. Wild, I know. But give me the unhinged kind. Pingeons and little postal dragons all over the place. You enter. The most disgusting smell fucking assaults your nostrils. You know what it is. Letter in hand, you go up to the counter. The postal worker is just a slightly bigger pigeon. You shed a tear.
PLAYGROUNDS!! Create the most dangerous kinds of playgrounds, the ones suburban moms would TRIP if they ever saw one. Monkey bars that are way too tall, swings that go full circle... The metal slide stays the same, it's already painful enough.
PARKS!! MAKE IT ALIVE!! Show people going on walks, reading beneath trees. C'mon most of them are already hundred years old (And are going to die after that CR 15 creature wrecks the town) anyways!! Show couples and picnics, show a family enjoying the sunday, give me someone picking flowers for their loved ones.
A bakery! Do you know how much these places are underrated? And do you know how much plot potential they have? Every good story starts with food poisoning or granny's recipe! Give me a place your players/readers are going to treat like home and, for once, it's not a tavern or a guild.
Government buildings! Give me a town hall that has a kilometric line in front of it. Give me a registry that is as old as this town. Give me police stations! Give me courtrooms! Make one of your players get arrested and now all of the party has to go through burocracy like a bunch of normal people!
(Who am I kidding? You don't need to make them get arrested. They are going to do that for you.)
Touristic attractions! Give me a full-on statue of the country's leader! Give me museums! Give me streets, ruins and whatnot that attract thousands of tourists everyday! Give me an annoying city guide that tries to get the party's attention everytime!
Magazine stands! Magazines don't exist? Newspaper stands! From the Queen's Journal to the most questionable new piece of Fox's Tailtracker, you have it all! Make your players doubt what's actually happening, sprinkle a little fake news... Or is it fake at all?
...Toy stores. OK HEAR ME OUT. Make magic toys; miniature skyships that actually fly, metal toy dragons that expel fire, little wands that make little light spells, wooden creatures that can move and make noises... Make children happy! And your players too because they will waste their money on these stuff.
Instrument store!! Make your bards happy with special instruments or just weird ones! Give me a battle in one of those that is just filled with funny noises and the worst battle soundtrack ever!!
Not exactly a place but... Cleaning carts!!! Show me people cleaning the streets, picking up the trash, cutting trees!! Make the town look clean!! Give me an old man that is really proud of his work!!!
(or ways to make your players feel even worse when the villain destroys the town later on :) )

I might've added the BG3 Art Book to my dnd assets stash
It' 100% does not have things like the 5e players' handbook + 5eâs character sheet, several gm guides, critical role's explorer's guide to wildmount, baldur's gate and waterdeep city encounters, 101 potions and their effects, volo's guide to monsters, both of xanathar's guides, a bunch of other encounters, one shots, and class builds
In no way are there any pdfâs relating to any wizard who may or may not be residing on any coast
(Edit that Iâve moved the folder to the new link above! So if you catch a different version of this post that link wonât work anymore!)
