If you’re typing “how to cast a light spell” into a smartphone then I think there’s a simpler solution to your problem
Ive seen people be like in modern fantasy like "oh the pritagonists can just look up spells on their phone how do you solve that"
Imma be honest most people who go on recipe websites and book every recipe they see don't even use them lmao why would with be different
Another way of looking at it: these companies are using your compassion, your ability to humanize and empathize and create bonds with things that aren’t human, as a means for profit, manipulation and theft. I think it’s really cool that humans can feel connected to non-living things— stuffed animals, toys, fictional characters, a pet rock, etc— but that lovely little part of being human is being twisted into something dangerous. I’m sorry you’ve been used like this, I’m sorry you feel attached to something that does not care about you but is programmed to make you think it does. But you have to stop letting them manipulate you.
i hate how they market alexa as a ‘member of the family’ like that’s SO fucking blatantly insidious and terrifying also if i wanted an untrustworthy/cold/emotionless machine in my life i’d just talk to my fuckin father
do i even need to say it
