Charles held out a tiny, dime-sized rainbow pin in his hand.

Edwin turned around, brows furrowed in confusion. “I appreciate the thought, but I’m not sure it would, er, match my aesthetic, Charles.”

Charles shook his head with a grin. “It matches you great. Here, you can tuck it on the inside of your lapel if you want, so no one can see it if you don’t want ‘em to.”

Edwin’s brows furrowed further.

“And it goes with mine, see?” Charles pointed at a new pin on his own jacket - purple, pink, and blue.

Edwin looked at the pin then, eyes widening, up to Charles’s face.

Charles’s grin softened. “So we can match.”

Edwin blinked a few times and cleared his throat. “I - “ he started, then paused. “All right. On the inside.”

Charles reached out and lifted the lapel of Edwin’s coat, carefully piercing it with the pin. Edwin gazed down at his hands in wonder. Charles closed the lapel over the pin and patted it down, then rested his hand on Edwin’s chest, not stepping back.

Edwin lifted his hand up to cover Charles’s hand on his jacket and smiled, ever so slightly. “So we can match.”
