Mafia!Au where older brother and gangleader!Namjoon is worried for your safety, so he buys you leading champion Hybrid!Jimin from an underground hybrid fighting ring to be your guard dog:

- Being the younger sister of the leader of the largest gang in South Korea can be dangerous.

- Both you and Namjoon live in a large house inside of a larger gang compound - but he tries to keep his life with you and his life with Bangtan separate.

- There have been a few attempts on your life- and unfortunately after one gets too close for comfort- Namjoon decides that he isn’t enough to keep you safe anymore. 

- He purchases Jimin for an absurd amount of money.

- German shepherd hybrid Jimin thou…

 - He had just beat the reigning champion hybrid in a fight, but he didn’t feel good about it- Jimin had always done just what his masters said- because if he was going to survive and not get punished he needed too- and now here is his new master telling him that his new job isn’t to fight but to protect???

- Doesn’t understand getting pets yet, and almost growls at you the first time you try to do it- then he remembers he’s a guard dog now. 

- Lowkey glad that Namjoon bought him b/c he hated fighting. 

- Slowly starts to warm up to you until one day he realizes that you are “his” human.

- so loyal

- After that god help anyone that comes near you without your say so.

- Growls at anyone who comes near you (besides Namjoon- who he refuses to call anything other than master).

- Calls you “miss y/n” or “miss Kim” no matter how many times you tell him to call you y/n.

- Follows you around everywhere- even tries to go to the bathroom with you in a public place once.

- Doesn’t understand why you want him to sleep in/on your bed and not watch the door from the floor like a hawk while you sleep.

- Actually the first few nights he totally does this.

- Only to be exhausted after a few days of not sleeping.

- He tells you why he’s so tired- ears pinned to his head worried that you’ll be mad at him- you certainly look mad at him. 

- He’s been worried that someone would try and attack you while he sleeps. 

- You make him sleep after that (thought some nights he still stays awake because he likes to listen to your heartbeat- it’s so steady and quiet compared to the kennels where he grew up).

- Falls asleep at the foot of your bed but ends up cuddled next to you above the covers usually. 

- And if you wake up from a nightmare or start to have a panic attack- you can best believe that boy isn’t letting you out of his arms.

- The first time it happens he isn’t sure why you’re panicking. 

- “Did the toast scare her? Did I do something wrong?” is all he thinks.

- But no its just your shitty ex texting you or some shit.

- After that, he understands that when you start panicking you just need to get to a quiet place where Jimin can hold you. 

- Literally, cannot handle it when you call him “good boy” his tail beats back and forth a mile a minute and he just sort of pushes his head against any part of your body.

- You use walking Jimin as an excuse to go on lots of long walks and get out of the compound.

- Namjoon has a tendency to be overprotective and tries to keep you from leaving as much as possible. 

- You and Namjoon are at a gala together (with Jimin in a suit next to you) when a bomb goes off a few feet away that was meant to take one of you out. 

- Uses your first name for the first time “y/n!”

- Jimin covers your body with his and gets shrapnel in his back. 

- You cry when he smiles at you from the vet table- because “I’m alright Y/n really, as long as you’re alright- it doesn’t hurt that bad…*wince*”

- You don’t let go of his hand the entire time the vet is sowing him back up because you can tell the vet didn’t give him enough painkillers but he’s too stubborn to take more. 

- You both spend the next few weeks watching re-runs of tv shows on your couch, him lying on his stomach with his head in your lap because he can’t lie on his back- you give him so many pets. 

-He falls asleep on you almost every time.

-After he heals you still do this- because now it’s more of a habit. And as much as Jimin hates to admit it he has become addicted to skinship with you. 

- Literally is the neediest puppy every time you’re alone- but is the most stone-faced guard dog if anyone else is there. 

- After the whole gala incident, Namjoon is a bit more affectionate to Jimin, giving him a pet every now and then and saying “good boy” sometimes. 

- He doesn’t realize that his feelings for you have grown into something beyond love for his master until you accidentally run into your ex while out one afternoon. 

- And you know that bastard left you heartbroken (which is one of the other reasons why Namjoon decided to get you a hybrid- because he knew he wasn’t home a lot and that you needed someone to keep you grounded- not that Namjoon would ever admit it) 

- Jimin hears your breathing change and your heartbeat speed up and senses your distress- and Jimin has every intention of getting you the heck out of there as fast as he can- he knows a panic attack when he sees one- heck he’s woken up to you haveing them enough times to know when you’re seconds from falling apart.

- But then that bastard tries to grab you

- And Jimin practically rips his arm off- and nearly beats him too a pulp for laying his hands on you. 

- “If you ever touch her again I swear there won’t be enough left of you for your family to bury” 

- Gets you home safe - and Namjoon practically hugs him when he tells Namjoon what happens- because that is exactly why Namjoon got Jimin for you. 

- You help Jimin clean his split knuckles afterward in your bathroom next to your shared bedroom. And he’s mostly silent until you thank him for getting you away- and you confess that you’ve been a lot happier since he came to stay with you.

- But he doesn’t say anything for a moment- not thank you, or its no problem like he normally would. And you look up to find him staring at you intensely and without breaking eye contact he says;

- “If I where a human man could you love me?”

- “I already love you silly” he shivers as you scratch behind one of his ears

- “No, I mean not like that.” which causes you to kiss him- and hes so shocked that he dosent kiss back he just sits there wide-eyed- his heart practically beating out of his chest. A shocked smile tugging at his chapped lips. 

- “Like that?” you ask cocily. 

- Namjoon walks in on you two naked in the morning a few weeks afterward

- And let me tell you he’s not exactly ok with it but I mean- if it had to be anyone- he’s glad it someone who he knows would never think of hurting you.

Splinters stuck up from the uneven surface as my fingers dipped into the warped wood. The leaves rustled with a low howl of the wind. Wisp of my hair tickled my face like spider webs. The insistent tangles tickled my nose with no mercy. I huffed, arched dramatically and sneezed with all my might with my legs extended out animatedly. The soft rustle of my cane hitting the lush grass was the only warning of my mistake. My hands scrapped over the splintering surface, a textural reminder of how good my perception was without it. My unfocused eyes flipping back and forth, “Oh no, oh no, no, no, no.” I tapped around the bench, it responded back with hollow reverbs.

When you reach your building, Yoongi gently shakes you awake before he helps you out of the car to the best of his ability in his slightly giggly, definitely drunken state, and the four of you make your way into the elevator in the lobby, riding it up to the seventh floor before getting out and walking around the corner to your front door. Yoongi presses the code into the keypad and then Seokjin pushes him back.

“Stay here with Namjoon. I need to make sure it’s clear.” You’re thankful the guards were smart enough not to drink because honestly, you wouldn’t have even thought about checking the apartment right now. The three of you stand there for a few minutes before you hear Seokjin call out. “Clear!”
