A fusion of both Gardevoir and Solgaleo, with a shiny variant as well!

I wanted to redo my Spamton Neo design after a long while because it never exactly felt.. too close to canon Neo to me, so this time I tried to base it almost entirely off of the sprites with only a few alterations.

I still believe that canon Neo’s wings are the same color, due to the sprite flipping and being unchanged, and that it’s the lighting that’s making it a shade of purple so his body and arms don’t blend into the other wing in the sprite, so I made both of the wings the same shades of pink and yellow. However, one thing I took inspiration from was that the wings in the sprite look different compared to each other other than color, such as the wing closer to us looking shorter, or broken, in comparison to the wing in the back. I also took the green from the sprite and interpreted it as some kind of moss, or rusting, due to the original design the Lightner made to be abandoned in the basement and falling apart.

I went for mostly full robot, aside from his head which notably has no puppet mouth in any of the Neo sprites. I felt like with this design he would just kind of pop his head off (being a ventriloquist dummy and all) and put it into the suit and inflect with malware in that way (Yes I know it’s through the keygen, I just thought it would be more interesting to design it with this thought in mind).

His limbs and wings are all disconnected from the main body like in his original sprite except his head, but are still segmented at the bends to keep the robot look from the original robot. His irises / eyes aren’t visible behind the glasses in this version, and they glow like in the original game.

His face shape is way more similar to his shop sprite, but his spiked hairline is more visible due to the swoop being higher (to keep the spiked looking silhouette), his hair is more messy and out of control than normal (I’m sure going NEO would do that to anyone).

One very small change was that I noticed that Spamton Neo’s “pants” in the sprite puff out a bit before going into the heels, so I implemented that into the design and also added the same shape to his forearms to keep it consistent. Meanwhile the chest piece was so hard to figure out especially when comparing the huge sprite to the smaller sprite, so I just winged it as much as I could to make it simpler and easier to understand for drawing purposes.

The triangle in the center springs open for the “Heart to heart” attack with the blue hearts.

The canon can turn back into his hand at will and of course can become phones if he wants.
