Buzzfeed puppy’s

Finally the day was here that Buzzfeed would interview Chris with the puppy’s. Honestly if it wasn’t for the amount of fans that asked for this, it might’ve taken a way much longer time than now. Chris was over the moon excited about this and took you with him.

You and Chris were a couple for over a year now and the amount of love Chris had shown you everyday was just amazing. He treated you like the most precious thing in the world and showered you with nice things, even though you found it uncomfortable sometimes but he always reassured you that he wanted nothing more than to show you how much of a Queen you are.

Coach Fury was what your college needed, retired NFL lineman, coming back to his alma mater, keeping the team afloat and popular for the nation. And coming back with championships every year in the past, Fury patted himself on the back for his renowned football team, until this year.

“Parker!” He yelled at the freshmen. “I thought you were the best in your state, what is wrong with you?”

It was like everything he worked for in the past 7 years was nothing, gone down the drain with the new team that came for summer training. It was nothing but conditioning and running drill after drill. His starting lineup could barely know which foot to put forward after the last.

“My grandmama can run circles around you!” He screamed.

Just A Day

It started when your teaching assistant, Wanda, let it slip to Steve that your birthday was coming up. By the icy glare you gave her, she knew she had fucked up, and at least refused to tell him when it was. But that led to him asking you everyday for the next couple weeks, sending a text every morning saying is it today?

The morning of, you told him no, again, but Bucky had already ratted you out. He called you, first making a joke about how nothing got passed him, then he got Sarah on the line to sing happy birthday to you.

It was adorable, as must things she did were, but you were still grateful you were alone so no one was around to see the permanent grimace on your face.

The truth was, you had never been a fan of your birthday. Maybe when you were younger, but having younger siblings - that were twins at that - always took the limelight off of you, no matter the occasion.

Of course, once you were all older and it didn’t quite matter anymore, they apologized for the years of less than spectacular celebrations, but by then it had already left a bad taste in your mouth.

The most you had done since your 21st birthday - the only one you could remember celebrating since you were small - was drive to your parent’s house upstate for dinner. But since your siblings had moved out of the house, even that was a rarity. Now, it was just another day.

You didn’t want to tell Steve all this, never one to bring up your own problems, so you avoided the questions, let him tell you happy birthday, and promised to let him take you out to dinner soon.

The only positive of this day was that it fell on a Saturday, so at least you could wallow in peace instead of faking smiles and thank yous from the other teachers at school.

You had just turned on a rerun of Gossip Girl, a bowl of mac and cheese in your lap, when there was a knock at your door. You groaned, not wanting to be bothered at all, but stood up when another, more insistent knock sounded. Pushing yourself up from the couch, you crossed the living room to open the door, only to be met with a small force of nature launching itself into your arms.

You only just managed to catch Sarah without falling over, letting her koala wrap around you, already singing happy birthday yet again. Steve stood in the doorway, holding a teddy bear with a birthday balloon tied to its arms.

Schooling your features into a smile, you pressed a kiss to Steve’s cheek in thanks, peppering Sarah’s face in small kisses as well when she made a fake gagging sound at the display of affection. It was then your noticed she was clutching something in her tiny hand.

“What’s that?” you asked her, her smiling growing wide.

“Your birthday present, duh,” she responded, dropping the object into your outstretched hand. You laughed at her ever-present sass, before confusion took over at the present in your palm: a golf ball.

Your expression must have shown how confused you were, because Steve simply laughed, which caused Sarah to burst into giggles. You just arched an eyebrow, obviously waiting for an explanation.

“We’re playing putt-putt!” Sarah cheered, excited to be the one to share the news. If you knew anything, it had been her idea in the first place. Steve did a little jazz hands motion, finally moving inside to shut the door.

“Go get ready, you don’t have a choice here.” He motioned towards the stairs, then followed your longing glance to the bowl of mac and cheese still resting on the coffee table. “Don’t worry, I’ll put your leftovers away.”

Letting out a sigh of defeat, you trudged up to your room, changing from the pair of sweatpants into jeans and a t-shirt, not seeing any reason to dress up when you already didn’t want to be doing this. By the time you got back downstairs, Sarah was already waiting at the door, buzzing with energy.

The entire ride to the mini golf course, she kept talking about how she was so going to beat you and Steve, and you had to laugh at the stubborn streak she had obviously gotten from her father. You teased him about it, and he acted offended as if it weren’t absolutely true. By the time you parked, you were convinced you were about to get your ass kicked by a six year old, and if she hadn’t gotten so tired around the 10th hole, you honestly might have.

By the time you got to the last hole, Sarah had tapped out and Steve still managed to beat you carrying her across his shoulder. Not that you minded, you had such a fun time you managed to forget you were supposed to hate your birthday.

Once he got Sarah strapped into her carseat, now fast asleep, he held the door passenger open for you, a sheepish smile on his face.

“That’s the look of a man that’s hiding something, Rogers,” you said as soon as he slipped into his seat. He held up his hands in defense, but a finger pointed at him had him folding.

“Well, I asked my mom to keep Sarah tonight, if you wanted to spend some more time together on your birthday.” He glanced back to his daughter in the backseat. “Alone.”

You bit your lip, nodding, not wanting to let your excitement show. It wasn’t often you got an entire night alone together. Usually, you were too tired from school or too worried about waking up in the morning, and Steve had Sarah most weekends. You knew he was making even more of an effort than usual, for your birthday, and that warmed your heart.

After dropping Sarah off at Steve’s mom’s - the older Sarah forcing the cake she had baked into your arms - Steve drove the entire way back to your house with his hand tracing patterns along your thigh. Your stomach filled with butterflies, especially when he pulled out a bottle of wine, your favorite, from a paper bag in the backseat.

Once you were inside, you turned on a Harry Potter marathon while Steve poured you each a glass of wine. You were content to stay there the rest of the night, wrapped in his arms, watching the same movies you had seen a hundred times.

But two glasses and a text from your mom later, you were sniffling through your sad childhood story, while Steve rubbed reassuring circles on your back.

You let him run you a bath, sinking into his chest as he stepped in behind you. Then, you let him dress you in your most comfortable pajamas and stroke your hair until you fell asleep.

The next morning you woke up to an empty bed and the smell of pancakes. Creeping down the stairs, you see Steve shirtless, making breakfast like he had lived there all his life. You managed to sneak up on him, wrapping your arms around his narrow waist and pressing kissing along his freckled back.

After he served you both breakfast - in bed, at his insistence - you spent most of the afternoon just laying around, talking and touching and just being.

It wasn’t until that evening, when he was putting his shoes on by the door, that you finally thanked him.

“This has been the best birthday in my memory, and it’s all because of you,” you pressed a kiss to his lips. “And your amazing daughter. Before, it always felt like just another day, if not worse than all the rest, but because of you two, it was different.”

You kept the tears at bay as he kissed you sweetly, reaching to wrap your arms around his neck even as he towered over you.

“Everyday is special with you, sweetheart, for me and for Sarah. We both love you so-” He stopped, realizing what he said, and you could see the blush on his face as it spread down below the collar of his shirt.

“You love me?” you whispered, not quite believing you heard him right. You had known for a while, but had held off from saying it, scared it was too soon. But hearing those words from his mouth had a grin splitting across your face and a warmth blooming in your heart.

“Yeah, yeah I love you.”

“I love you too,” you said, kissing every inch of him you could reach. “Best birthday ever.”
