I get excited and giddy whenever I get to design any of the daimones, especially Nyx's children or possibly Nyx's children (to my knowledge, there's no source stating Achlys is a child of Nyx, but it assumed to be due due to her nature and domain, the clouding of the eyes before death. I made it a rule for designing Nyx's children that they all have to look abnormal compared to other deities, because my mind always wanders at night and creates the most unsettling creatures, it only makes sense to me that Nyx's children look unsettling, especially when so much of them embody mysterious things).
I didn't want her to be too scary and dark because I didn't want to make death a scary thing (I say as I made The Keres look like absolute nightmares, but you guys don't know about that yet), so I tried giving her some calming aspects to her appearance, like a spill of colors and nice visions seen flashing on her form.
@gigizetz part in the live stream was chef's kiss!! Her calypso design has me crine...

there are two wolves inside of me. one is yelling that authors have a duty to accurately depict classical cultures in their retellings and not impose modern expectations onto the stories. the other is yelling for them to completely twist the focus and narratives and morals to better convey the current cultural zeitgeist because reception of myths is not only fascinating but actively creating material for me to study. both wolves are historians.
