also like as a fat bitch. it's fucking nice!! it's nice to be sincerely complimented on parts of my body that i have spent two decades being subjected to ridicule and sometimes violence for, and it's nice when those comments are connected to a genuine desire for my body that i was told for Years was impossible. i see these posts (again, almost always from people who aren't fat) implying that there's already been a full upturn of cultural beauty norms such that the sensuality of fat bodies must now be a closed discussion and it makes me feel like i'm in an alternate reality. beyond just big butts or wide hips or thick thighs or fat tits (all features still vastly more praised on a smaller frame with a narrow waist), how often do you actually see open lust for fat features? for double chins or rolls or weight falling where it doesn't on models? a girl complimented how soft my arms are the other day and i was kind of taken aback because i think it's the first time anyone's ever had anything positive to say about my arms being fat and not just strong. and i'm fucking 27! that's nuts! i really don't know if the people saying these kinds of things fully grasp the extent to which fatphobia alienates you from your ability to see good in your body, to passively view yourself as somebody capable of being actively desired romantically and sexually. idk. i don't have a good endpoint here but like, tell your fat friends/partners/lovers that you love their bodies. love the parts of them they hide in photos, let your hands linger on their bodies, buy them flowers. shit's harder out here than you realize
